I'm looking to get an air horn not really worried about the legality of it but I don't really want to spend more than $300. So which system would you recommend and where do you recommend you locate the horns and compressor... any tips?
Ask Demondw3 or Robkar. They both have LOUD horns Demond's sounds just like a fire truck and Robs is just annoying LOUD.Do a search I think they discussed this before.or you can check out hornblasters.com for info

Check out kit 1180 in the link provided. It's a full kit including tank and compressor for less than 300 bones. Furthermore, unlike when I bought it, it now comes with an oiless compressor. You never have to worry about it. Here's a link. Scroll up or down to find kit 1180. It can also be had with black horns instead of chrome.

demond had a semi truck horn and Robkar had a train horn. I know Rob got his stuff on ebay. I think he spent close to $500?
I also purchased from the same folks as Vshortt it the fire truck horn(1510 kit) I paid $354 shipped a while ago it seems to have gone up some since. I still have another horn I purchase of ebay last year I never used. I will try and post up some picture of it later. It is similar to this set up.
We bought a 30 dollar ooghaa horn and installed in my buddies 1975 Cadillac ElDorado. We wore it out last year on the NFIBMT.
No frills iron bottom motoring tour.
Moral of the story here: Don't buy a chinese made ooghaa horn is you can avoid it.

Not trying to hijack your thread....but I bought a K3LA kit from hornblasters.com for 1500.00 last year for my new titan and just traded in the titan last week for an AWD car(moving to snow and titan was 2wd plus we sold the boat and don't need truck anymore) It will NOT fit on my new car and I would be willing to let it go for around 900.00...i know it's alot but no one will have one louder than you.....That was real important to me....see the link below of my horn in action. Good luck with your purchase it was so much fun for my wife and I both!!!!

Vshort, I like your install. 1 question though, is there no place under the truck to mount the compressor? why is it all wired inside of the side compartment?
I want to mount a regular compressor on mine to fill up tires / run airtools and what not...
