Off Road Light Wiring

I am about to install a bull bar and get some good off road lights for it. I was wondering if there is anyway to wire it up to one of the buttons right below the climate controll. The Button right next to the tow mode specifically. Anybody done this or know where I can buy a button to do this?

Thanks

Re: Off Road Light Wiring

Yes, just use a relay and a switch so you aren't running big gauge power wire through the firewall. Diagram here:

Electrical & Audio Information

The relay trigger lead is very low current, typically less than 0.5 amp so can be small gauge. The relay & power wire needs to be sized to match the current draw of the lights.

Somebody posted that the Pathfinder foglight switch fits the blank holes. Alternatively you can pop out the switch blank, drill it, and install a toggle switch.

Re: Off Road Light Wiring

I think there was a thread a while back that said you could use frontier or exterra switches there. I could be wrong though. Best thing to do would be to go down to your nissan dealer and check out factory fog light switches for various nissan vehicles until you find one that matches up. There is one out there, just not sure which one.

Hehe, best you beat me!

Yes the fog light button from the Pathfinder/Xterra is a perfect fit in one of them holes. Like mention already, best to use a relay, run the power off the battery and use the switch to throw the relay. This diagram is just an example, depending on how or when you want the lights to come on would dictate how some of the wires get hook up.
