"load" extender?

has anyone used the load extender? who all makes them? I see one from Lund, but at $250 it seems a little pricey, though it does look like a good one with 750lbs capacity.

One of my co-workers has one. I think he got it from JC. It's a smaller one but he only uses it for the long end of a kayak, so it doesn't see much weight. Nice thing to have though, especially with the short beds on our trucks.
