Extra parts after grille inserts? lol

So I just got my new grille in last night and put it on. One question. The upper 3 piece grille, on the left and right sides there are black covers that are blocking everything from getting into the engine area, I left those off and coming to work this morning it felt as though I had a bit more power. I know, sounds crazy. Is this possible? Also, do I really need those installed or can I just leave them out?

Well, that tired old 5.6L doesn't have to carry around those extra 2.5 ounces.... Of course it's gonna be faster!!!

I'd put them back. They are splash guards. Just to keep water off the electronics and connections near the headlights. Whenever I wash my truck, there's always a little puddle in them. That's their job.

The power is coming from your truck appreciating the extra coolness you added by improve it's looks. I get that all the time with mine. For example, mine always feels faster after a nice washing. I think that adds something like 10 hp.

remember when your mom would buy you new sneakers, then you'd wear them out to play and swear your were 3 seconds faster.... it's a lot like that

So you're saying if I wash the truck and add NOS stickers I'll get 30-40HP more?

Easily! Butt dyno doesn't lie! Try the Nismo stickers. I hear they're good for 20-25 HP!!!!

I could have sworn they add extra weight because I passed a black titan like he was standing still.. And he was sporting those Nismo stickers. All he heard was my AEM growling by and the Volant saying bye bye.. Gotta love that deep rumble when you hit the pedal just right.
