Has anyone tried installing tonneau cover with only 4 clamps?
I was installing a new Truxedo Lo-Pro Tonneau cover on my 2005 CC today and noticed that if I used all 6 hold down clamps (yes - I have the new design - checked old posts before installing for some help!) I lost the use of my Nissan Bed divider. I looked on the manufacturer's website and noticed that the cover that fits the Nissan Fronteer only uses 4 of the SAME clamp - and the bed is 6" longer than my Titan CC. Has anyone tried using one of these covers with the two center clamps removed to get back the sliding bed divider (just 4 clamps)- one on each corner? Please help - I don't want my new cover flying off - but I would love my bed divider to work!

did you install yours with 4? how did it work?
So far I have 8000 miles on my 2005 since I installed the cover with 4 clamps - including a drive from upstate NY to Florida and back (Took my little one to Disney - Yeh!). No problems - and no leaks - even in the Florida rain.

I have the BakFlip, and used 1/8" x 1/4" long Stainless Steel Pop Rivets to secure the rails. No Clamps in the way of anything, and soooo much cleaner looking. I also painted the rivet heads with a black touch up paint stick from a hobby shop. Looks good.

I have the Nissan cover that uses 2 clamps per side and have not had any water get in there except for around the four corners. Hard to get the velcro to hold around the zipper pulls. I do lose the use of the divider but I figure if I need to use it, I can remove the cover in about 5 minutes.

With my Truxedo Lo-Pro Tonneau cover installed wth 4 clamps I have full use of both the bed divider and the bed extender. It was those 2 middle clamps that messed up the bed divider - going to 4 clamps has caused no issues and so far no leaks. Bought it new for $300 on eBay - and it has a registered with the manufacturer lifetime warranty. Nice peace of mind.

You can probably get away with four clamps (two on each side) on the CC standard bed. With the KC standard bed you might be able to do four clamps provided that you don't clamp just the far ends of the rail. Maybe at the far bed end for rigidity for the latching the tonneau and the other 1/3 from the front.
For mine, with the bed divider and the Truxedo LowPro tonneau on a KC, I use the three clamps. One on the front closest to the bed, the middle one is moved forward to the front of the bed to allow the divider to slide closer to the bed, just beyond the half way mark. The last set close to the tailgate.
