Those of you with HID Fogs...

First of all, I searched and searched for this answer.

What HID size fit in the OEM Fog connectors? I know it's 800 series, so would any kit like the xentech match?

And, where are you guys mounting the ballasts? I assume in the bumper somewhere...any pics?

thanks guys...

Re: Those of you with HID Fogs...

881 or 899 will fit.

Most put the ballasts on the inside of the fenders or on top of the foglight houseing, attached with some 3M doublesided sticky tape.

Guys w/ HID Fogs ?

That's what I did. Just make sure you clean the mounting surface really good beforehand. The HID kits are a purchase I'll never regret. Go for it!

Man maybe i just had a set that was made with unobtanium or something?

I had mine aimed as far down as they would go and I still was making the roosters ****-a-doodle-do when i drove by. They were hella bright.

I think if I had done the fog-light mod and just ran them in conjunction with my running lights it would be ok. But with the lows retro'd to HID & the fogs....it was WAAAY to bright. I got flashed several times each trip.

I've never been flashed either...maybe your headlights aim is all f**ked up or something?

I did aim mine down a little after I got them.

Re: Those of you with HID Fogs...

I didn't adjust mine but only use them off road or when I'm in a canyon or area that deer are present. I never get flashed but they are hella bright! Also I added some zip ties to the sticky tape after mudding and having the tape come loose!

Re: Those of you with HID Fogs...

I got my HiD's for my fogs, but the dude sent 9006 connectors. He said he doesn't have 800 series connectors. Is this right? How did you guys connect to your stock plug? I've assembled the connectors not knowing it wouldn't fit to the 800 series plug on my truck.
He advised to plug the prongs into the stock female plug straight, is this correct? Help please!
He's resending new connectors so I can plug the two prongs straight into the stock headlight female socket.
Make sense... probably not. BUT any info helps.
