Just out of curiosity, you did check to make sure the power on the green wire turns on and off with the switch right??
I know it is a stupid question, but it is nice to make sure that you have the correct wires.
If it does, than you must have a bad connection somewhere!! Also, in the automotive industry, the black is usually ground, it shouldn't make a difference when wiring bulbs, but you never know!! You might want to try switching the wires on the cargo lamp!
Yes, the power goes on/off to the green wire. I'm positive because I was reading 11.73V back there, then when the cargo light "timed out" I lost power to the back just like I should have.
The light is really simple. The black and white wires push down through the plastic "socket" from the same direction as the bulb, which then leaves the two pigtails sticking out the back. Aside from the color of the sheathing on the wires, they are identical.
On a side note, the plastic "socket" itself isn't even the socket. The wires have little copper terminals on the end of them that the bulb sets in. The plastic part basically holds the wires, which hold the bulb, then the plastic piece is what mates with the light housing. Here is the bulb:
Again, thanks for the help with this.

Well, if you know that you have a good power source and a good ground, than the other completely stupid thing to check is the bulbs themselves!! I have had that happen to me before, they could have been joggled around too much or something!
I checked the light assemblies across the +/- terminals on the battery last night, they lit right up.
Thanks for all the help you guys have provided. I probably won't get to look at this again till tomorrow (Friday) sometime.
Right now my plan is to ground them to the rear brake light grounds and see what happens.

pages are being scanned, i'll e-mail you that info soon...
fyi there are no cargo lights on the brake light assembly for the overhead racks.. so i'm assuming what is being tapped into will only be for braking and possibley turn signals. i hope the schemcatics help though.
I tapped into the ground wire for the brake lights and it worked. I just wire bugged everything together until I can solder them this weekend.
Thanks for the help everyone!

I finished hooking them up last night then drove 250 miles back to my hometown for the long weekend. I plan to go outside shortly and tidy things up. Will post pics and writeup on Tuesday sometime. I don't have any way of uploading pics right now.
