What I find helps a ton is actually WAXING the windsheild. It helps the wipers and the water beads better then a rain-x product. I have found the combo of wax and an ok set of wipers ROCKS.

Any of the new "frameless" style wipers are way better than the old school ones IMO. I have tried a few, the cheap Trico ones, and the rain-x ones. They work awesome in the snow and they dont look stupid like the old Anco winter blades. My next pair will be the Icon by Bosch. If you know someone that sells Amsoil they can also order Bosh stuff including the Icons. I'm not sure the exact price but it could save you some money.
Just replaced mine yesterday with the Icon's. Part # 424A for the driver's side and 422B for the passenger's side. They are on sale at Advance Auto Parts for 25% off.
