Overhead Console- Temp gage & compass installation

Hi, I have a 06 Se kc without temp gage & Compass, home link, in my overhead console, I bought a used console with these, thinking the wiring should be there, not so!, I talked to my nissan dealer about getting the proper harness $50.00 for one, They said I might need more wiring than just the harness from the fuse box (dash) to the console, really all I want is the temp gage for now,is there a way to do this, my service manual does'nt tell me much, Any help in this matter will greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, Ken

Dang that isnt good. Well you will have to have a temp sensor to start. Seems like if you have 12v and a sensor you can make that part work. As far as the compass and the other features i'm not sure.

You are going to need the sending unit for the temp gauge also.

Edit: Looks like roy365 beat me to that one.

Thanks guys, I have a black plastic module in the console about 2in square with writing on it saying this side up, could this be the temp sensor ? Ken

Well I dunno about the small black box, as my truck didnt have this option. Could be. Maybe Quartz has THAT answer?!?!?!?!

This side up indicates to me that it may be the compass. The temp sensor is not inside the cab. I believe it's behind the bumper but I'll have to check my service manual. I'm at work and can't until I get home. I'll get back to you if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

The air temp sensor is behind the grill in front of the electric fan. There's not a lot of info on it in the service manual. PM me and I can send a drawing of where it is.
