Most of you are aware of the skid plates that I've designed/made for 6" lifted ProComp Titans, and I had considered trying to sell some. Trouble is that I don't have access to the equipment to do this myself, which means I have to get someone else to do it.
I got quotes from three different local shops for having the plates made and lets just say the numbers weren't very favorable. Even for me to break even, with the plates and all the hardware/fasteners, I'd have to sell them for nearly $400 for the three plates. That's not counting shipping either. I know that's waaaaaay more than even I'd be willing to spend, so I've pretty much scrapped the idea...for now.
It's too big of a risk for me right now to front that kinda money and end up having a bunch of them just sitting here because the price is too much. I even tried several different material types/thickness variations to lower the cost, none of which were favorable. The only way to lower the cost would be ordering a bunch of them (like 30 sets), but I doubt that I would ever sell 30 sets of these.
I still have the drawings for everything, the front skid, engine skid, and trans skid. All hole locations, all bend angles, everything you'd need to make a set.
I don't really know what else to say, other than,
sorry to disappoint those that were interested.
Please, if you have any advice, suggestions, or comments on how to make this happen, I'm all ears.
