2008 chrome bug shield

Looking to get a chrome bug shield and was looking at the AVS chrome plastic shield or the lund SS. Is the SS lund just as bright as the factory chrome, I don't want to have to polish it all the time plus it seems like the avs is alittle more sleek. I've heard bad stuff on the mounting hardware on the lund. Can't seem to find it on Avs or lunds site for an 08 titan, anyone have one for their 08 and have the part number and where they got it from. thanks

It is pretty close, a great looking gaurd IMO. The hood hasn't changed, so just use the 07 model number. Check out the price at autoanything.

The Lund SS is going to look better for much longer than the plastic AVS

AGREED...I took a rock to the Lund at about 75mph...Would have shattered the AVS and probably dented my hood. Matches my chrome just fine and is super easy to clean.

Re: 2008 chrome bug shield

Is the lund ss a chrome plated ss or is it polished? It's looks like it matches pretty good for polished. Just thought if it was polished it would take a lot of up keep to look good.

Re: 2008 chrome bug shield

Anyone know where to get one of these quick? Jcwhitney says ships within 72 hours or 7-10 days on another with no faster shipping. Should I call them to see if they can ship quicker, need asap going on trip.

Re: 2008 chrome bug shield

I only see the avs chrome for 04-05 years that should work on my 08 correct? I know they haven't changed much except for the grill look, but the mounting locations are the same correct? One guy on here said he got the avs chrome model number 680402 and the holes didn't line up and the shield didn't go all the way across but the pics ive seen on here look great. It looks a little shorter and more streamlined with the hood. anyone know about the avs? I know the ss would last longer but if the other lasts a couple of years that will work. It looks like the avs is brighter chrome than the ss and it should hold up as good as my chrome abs plastic grill correct?? thanks

Honestly...no upkeep what so ever... it's stainless steel.

Whitney had the best price for me at the time of $109.00. Just wait it out.

Re: 2008 chrome bug shield

I got mine from Cabelas and I think they have it for $110 though they ended up charging me $6 for shipping. I got mine during some Christmas special which had $20 of $150. I ended up ordering the Lund SS for my Titan and some Husky floor matts. Check for Cebelas coupons and you might get a good deal. Sorry i don't have info on how it will look or work as it still in the box until the weather improve and I can wash the truck. Good luck

I got mine from Amazon back in November. Still the same price and has free shipping... all for $97.20.

Got it within a week too, even with the Super Saver shipping.
