I just wanted to see if anybody has installed an Injen Powerflow intake in their Titan. I wanted to get the Volant intake but somebody told me to put an Injen Powerflow intake instead. I just wanted feedback from anybody who has the Injen or has had both on their Titan to see which one I should buy.

I have an 08 Pro 4X and have had both on my truck. The Volant was a Gen 3 and made a high-pitched vibration noise when between 1/2 throttle and WOT. It was extremely annoying. I called Volant and they told me there was nothing they could do because that was just the design. I noticed some power gains. The Injen, however, is the greatest thing since sliced bread and sex. I noticed much more power gains and it is much quieter. In my opinion, Injen is THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dew, I was thinking somebody was gonna tell me to do a search on forums because it had been previously discussed. I was already leaning toward the Injen and appreciate the help with making my decision. I am buying the Injen as I type on my laptop.

I've got the Injen and it is by far my favorite thing I have done to the truck. The bracket on mine seemed a little week and it caused some rattling noise, but it was easy to fab up a new one.
I have heard great things about both, a little more positive about the Injen, but I have the AEM Brute Force so what do I know. I love my CAI would recommend it to any of my Titan mates.
I was a big fan of Volant in the past. I used their intake in both of my previous Chevy Z71s, and enjoyed the design & gains.
I did a lot of research after I got this Titan, and finally went with the Injen. The overall design is slightly (yet enough) better and higher quality (imo). The whine is much less noticable with the Injen.
The only thing that had me leaning back in Volant's direction was that they recently added a matched Cat Back to their lineup. That's always a plus. But for it's cost, I would have chosed Borla anyway.
As it sits, I'm perfectly happy with the money spent on the Gibson. (Shipping error magically worked in my favor=free Cat Back)

I love my power gains

Whats the model number for the Injen and where is a good place to get it? I assume the current model is 2008 compatible?

Very few people actually tried different intakes and can give an educated opinion.
Personally? I'd say you can't wrong with K&N 77 Series for the price (owned it)
But I like the AEM better because I don't have to worry about over oiling and f*cking up the MAF. (currently own it)
You can spend an arm and a leg on intake but most of the HP gains are the same (see link in sig)

*NeverMind* - a different search showed the InJen version. Kind of expen$ive!

What is the little dohicky that comes of the intake pipe for? It's the only intake I've seen that has it.
