I went between ordering that piece or not a while back - but since I got the SE without any other chrome on the handles or mirrors I decided to black it out. Looks nice though.

I like the chrom accent to the rear bib. What I do not like is the fact New England winter has basically killed my chrome bib. I was looking at it the other day and it has a braille like coating in certain spots. WTF. Damn online vendors. Anyone recommend a better quality replacement that will not have this issue? Thanks

The worst thing people do to make a Titan look horrible is adding all the nasty bull crap "chorme" parts that are offered. It all looks like trash to me...very cheap.

Ya know, there's some who overdo it a bit.....

The fact is, I'm not 16. I remember back when cars had style... and class.... And honestly, I think a small amount of chrome or in my case, stainless steel, adds a bit of accent to a vehicle. I don't dislike the blacked out look. Some of those trucks on here look pretty badass! And I applaud them for their tasteful execution of the concept. I just happen to be going for a more elegant look. I don't want to trick my truck out like an offroad racer, a swamp buggy, or a Monster truck. That's fine for others, but not what I want.

I don't agree that every chrome bauble that exists looks appropriate on any vehicle. I don't live in Miami, so I can't relate to that or the "jumping" suspension on skinny tires with wire wheels.... BUT, I own MY vehicle, and that's the one I'M going to decorate, accessorize and dress up the way I see fit. Everyone else will do the same to theirs. Again, it boils down to what YOU want.

Now when someone asks for pics of something and I, or anyone else, can help them out and supply pics or websites to peruse toward that purpose, then I'm going to do it. Those with disparaging tastes who want to upchuck attitude should just go take a valium and sleep it off.

And yes, opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one, but it's not an open invitation to show them to the world when someone asks for photos of something.

And remember, open your mind. Just because the fact that the "every single piece of chrome available" design scheme may not look good, doesn't mean that a select amount of appropriate trim doesn't. Be individual, do what you want, and let others do the same.

I got my 08 back in the summer of 07 and the first thing i bought was the tailgate trim piece. I had gotten behind another Titan in traffic and thought it looked great and to get one.

Bad news, mine cost around $75 and my truck has to sit outside because i have the long bed so it sat outside all winter here in Indianapolis. Anyway, it pitted out in the recessed hole where you lift the latch to lower the tailgate. The main area that you see from behind looks fine but if you look hard enough you can see the pitting in the area i mentioned. So i'm sorta pissed.

My question to you guys is those of you that have the full plate type is to ask if it is stainless? I have the trim piece that still shows the black center area around the logo. This style piece is ABS chrome plated plastic and is probably why it pitted. If the full plate style comes in stainless and is available for the 08 i'd like to get one. Where? Thanks

P.S. For guys who do and don't like the chrome, it's personal preference. This stereotypical idea that a rugged truck represents some sort of manly tough guy image is ridiculous! Most men that i have known that push this tough guy image are insecure about their masculinity and feel the need to reinforce security within themselves. This also can work the same way with dressing up your truck in order to draw attention to yourself which also represents a need within. So either way, stop the bickering and let everyone deal with their own demons individually and honestly express themselves.

The full bib cover on mine is actually stainless steel, old-school. The partial ones are all plastic, I believe. That's one reason I went with the one I did. Plus, I really wanted to cover up the flat black plastic bib. Didn't care for that either.

So where did you get it and will it fit the 08? Is your truck a 08? I just ordered the Leer hard tonneau cover last week. I can't wait to get it. My bed stayed full of snow all winter long. But aside from that, i like the looks of the hard cover Leer 700 series.

The bibs haven't really changed. All the listings both on ebay and various internet truck parts sites label them as 04-08. I got mine on eBay and saved about $25 over some of the other vendors. Just my choice.

What color's your truck? I kinda like the color-matched bibs on some colors. My Galaxy Black was just begging for some "shiny" back there....

Thanks for the link. I'm now wondering what will happen if anything when i pull the old one off? Sure hope it comes off cleanly. That adhesive seems like it is pretty strong so i hope the black plastic underneath doesn't try to pull loose in any way.
