how do you tint your taillights?

ok guys, ive noticed quite a few of you titan owners have tinted your taillights and i wanted to tint mine but dont want to mess them up. also i see everybody tinted them different ways... which is the best way?

spray tint then clear coat.....
mixing black paint with clear coat... how much?


and instructions would be awesome!

You can always go to a window tint shop and ask them to do it if you don't want to hassle with it.

Check with RBsTitan, he recently tinted his tail lights with some pre cut tint he got online somewhere.

I bought 2 little cans that were called Liquid Tint, for model cars. Got it at a hobby store here in town. Just sprayed a couple coats to your desired darkness let dry then went over with some krylon clear.

Well i'll tell ya what NOT to get...
i Just got these today off ebay and the film was CRAP. The directions said that it would strech to cover the entire light and stay on w/ no probs but didnt. i couldnt get it to strech to fit the light or even stay on.
HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!!

yea those suck really bad! i tried those tint film covers and it was impossible not to wrinkle them! and then i ordered more and my local tint shop couldnt even do it

the way I did mine and a few others is with the VHT(sp?) night shade spray can. Directions say to do 3 coats. I did about 5. Comes out super dark. After it cures, I wet sand and buff till I get the desired light output. If too dark, sand and buff again. only used 2K grit sand paper. The sanding also gets most of the orange peel in the paint so you only get a High gloss finish. Even if you fk up, sand it down and start over.
