They also need a decibel meter to determine if someones exhaust is too loud before issuing a fix it ticket but that doesn't stop them.
I know Roy is championing the D2R bulbs and I must say that for the good and public safety of everyone around them, they are probably the best bulbs to use for the Titan. Having said that, at the end of the day, it is still illegal to install any type of HID kits in the Titan.
None of these HID conversion are DOT approved for the types of headlight housings we have available.
If an aftermarket company were to design a proper HID compliant projector headlight for the Titan alongside with the actual wiring and HID kit itself. They would have to invest the $ in testing and getting the headlight and kit DOT approved. That is the only way to be 100% legal.
If someone in their garage fabs up their own kit to look just as good as something that a big name company can produce, that is great. I bet it would look and be made better. However that kit is still technically illegal as it is not DOT approved.
