Hey guys. I've done some searching on here and have a few questions for those that have the off-road lights in the lower air dam. I am interested in putting 2 on my titan but wanted to know how you know if your state (Arkansas in my case) requires them to be covered. Also, how hard are they to put on and well, I guess what would be best is if someone has a post or can make a post on how to add these. Thanks ya'll! I haven't done much work on trucks or anything, but am a pretty handy guy, so I know I can do it...I just don't know how. Thanks!

I guess I'd be interested in our laws because I put a set on the lower air dam over a month ago. I have them wired to the high beam lamps, and they're only covered with the black KC "grate" cover and not a solid cover.
As far as installation goes there are a few good instructional threads here that explain everything. I found them very helpful.

Those look great rolex! That is exactly what I'm wanting on mine! Now, I was reading the intall instructuions that were in the link posted above, and it sounds like some people had some lights that didn't require as much wiring to be done. I'm also like you rolex...I really don't want them wired to the high beam. Is there a way to wire them straight to the switch on the dash or do they have to go through the high beam??
I don't know where Arkansas State Laws would be found but it depends on what types of lights you install. Here in Okla, it's my understanding so far that only fog lights are allowed to be installed below 42" from the ground and Driving and Offroad Lights are required to be above 42" and there are specific angles that they need to be aimed if used on highways. The 42" seems rediculously high, that's close to the height of our engine hoods.

Well I did some searching but couldn't find anything on our DMV sites so I sent them an email. Maybe they will reply pretty quick. Thanks for the info.

Well, believe it or not...I sent an email to the DMV and the Arkansas State Police and have already got a reply from both!
here is the AR law. Sounds like I'm ok to proceed!
History. Acts 1937, No. 300, § 117; Pope's Dig., § 6777; A.S.A. 1947, § 75-715.
27-36-214. Spot lamps, fog lamps, and auxiliary passing and driving lamps.
(a)(1) Spot Lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) spot lamps.
(2) Every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used upon approaching another vehicle that no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam will be directed to the left of the prolongation of the extreme left side of the vehicle nor more than one hundred feet (100') ahead of the vehicle.
(b)(1) Fog Lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) fog lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than twelve inches (12") nor more than thirty inches (30") above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands.
(2) They shall be so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high-intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall, at a distance of twenty-five feet (25') ahead, project higher than a level of four inches (4") below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes.
(3) Lighted fog lamps meeting these requirements may be used with lower headlamp beams as specified in § 27-36-210(b)(2).
(c)(1) Auxiliary Passing Lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) auxiliary passing lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than twenty-four inches (24") nor more than forty-two inches (42") above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands.
(2) The provisions of § 27-36-210 shall apply to any combination of headlamps and auxiliary passing lamps.
(d)(1) Auxiliary Driving Lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two (2) auxiliary driving lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than sixteen inches (16") nor more than forty-two inches (42") above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands.
(2) The provisions of § 27-36-210 shall apply to any combination of headlamps and auxiliary driving lamps.
(e) Ornamental Light-emitting Diodes White Lights. No motor vehicle may be equipped with more than two (2) ornamental light-emitting diodes white lights mounted on the front of the vehicle.
Interesting!!!! I'm wondering if I'm mis-intrepreting ours here.
Here's ours:
D. 1. A motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two front fog lamps or two rear fog lamps which shall only be used when visibility, as described in paragraphs 3 and 4 of subsection A of this section, is limited to one-half (1/2) mile or less.
2. Front fog lamps shall be mounted on the same level on opposite sides of the front of the vehicle at or below the level of the headlamps. Front fog lamps may be used with lower beam headlamps or switch controlled in conjunction with the headlamps and may be used, at the discretion of the driver, with either low or high beam headlamps. Front fog lamps shall not be used in substitution of headlamps, when headlamps are required.
E. A motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two auxiliary driving lamps mounted at a height of more than forty-two (42) inches from the ground. The auxiliary driving lamp or lamps shall only be used in combination with and to supplement the lawful upper beam of the headlamps and shall not be used alone or with the lawful lower beam of headlamps.
F. Every fog lamp or auxiliary driving lamp used upon a motor vehicle shall be so adjusted and aimed that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam shall, at a distance of twenty-five (25) feet, rise above the horizontal plane passing through the center of the lamp.
G. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a vehicle may be equipped with off-road lamps for use as headlamps while the vehicle is operated or driven off of a highway. The lamps shall be:
1. Mounted at a height of not less than forty-two (42) inches from the ground;
2. Wired independently of all other lighting; and
3. Turned off whenever the vehicle is operated or driven upon a highway.

That's odd. Our law doesn't say anything about when you can and can't use them either......at least I don't think it does. I got confused while reading that stuff and had to take a few breaks so i may have missed it.

Originally I had them wired to the KC switch only. I found myself using them in the same situations that I ran my high beams (obviously on road). Problem was when oncoming traffic popped up it was a PITA to turn off the high beams and the KC switch mounted next to the pedal adjustment and rear sonar button.
For that reason I wired the white trigger wire to the high beam lamps. The KC switch still works though. If you don't want the KC lights to come on when you trigger the high beams you just turn the KC switch off and you only get the factory high beams.
It's a piece of cake to wire it either way. If you want the KC switch only just attach the white wire to the battery. If you want to use the high beams, attach the white wire to the high beam lamp.

nice! I'm thinking of dropping the bull bar and going with this setup. I personally think they light look better seperated then together.
