Re: Bug Guard

If you're getting one to protect your front end from rocks....It doesn't make sense to by a piece of crap plastic one. The first good size rock hit and it's gone...along with your $65.00.

Make the investment and protect your hood.. I took a hard rock hit to my Lund that would have easily shattered a plastic one....See pic...game over!

Re: Bug Guard

Man if I was behind something throwing objects big enough to do that kind of damage I would be more worry about other things getting damage much more than a $65.00 shield.

Re: Bug Guard

Semi threw it....I was about 150 feet back and saw this chunk take a one hop and come rifling at me...couldn't do anything...Crack!.... I thought it hit in the center of my hood.

Bottom line though...If I didn't have the stainless...My hood was toast

Dent removal, paintjob and labor would well exceed the $109 I paid for the lund so I got off light.....

Still psst though.

Re: Bug Guard

I checked into 2 different bug shields, both aftermarket, cant rember what brand they were, but was told for both that I would need to drill the hood. Are they all like this? Did you have to drill for the Lund for the factory?

Re: Bug Guard

Lund requires no drilling. They use existing holes in the underside of your hood. It would be interesting to know which ones would require drilling as most of the main name brands I've seen do not require that.

I think you split the difference and get the better quality Lund Stainless Steel... OEM plastic isn't worth crap IMO.
