Utili-track Toolbox Confusion

I am getting really frustrated that NOBODY who works for any Nissan Parts dealership that I have called can tell me what the differance between the following Utili-track toolboxes:
999T2-WQ100
999T2-WQ300
999T2-WQ300S1

I found the "300" on ebay and called the dealer 6 times and have left 2 messages and been hung up on 4 times - UNBELIEVEABLE!

I want to add a Track-rack and I would like a Utili-track tool box but only if it is deep enough to be close to the bed floor - the "100" which is readily available is far too shallow and a little high for my liking.

nissanparts(dot)org/MC-CAHG-HE.aspx show all three idenitcally!

Incidentally the tool box only shows up under 2006 on - my understanding is that there is zero differance between the 2004 & the 2006.

Any help would be great!

Re: Utili-track Toolbox Confusion

That sounds like a dealership... a ****ty one at that. From my parts experiences the numbers being the same as they is no indication of difference to any great degree. I believe the 04 models boxes had a ****ty latch system (first number) and was adjusted (second number) for the 05 models.

If you plan to add the track rack i may suggest going with the boxes you can get with that system, unless you mean utlitrak (nissan version). the overhead racks for the titan only hould 125 each or 250 together, which isn't a big deal i've had ladders, surfboards, and have sat on them before... i'm not heavy though, only 150. I'm not sure i've they have changed the lids from plastic to diamond plate at any time...

The toolbox itself sits higher then the bed rails and looks a bit goofy to me. SOme have modified the hole on the side so the box sits flush with the rails but then you can't really slide lumber beneath it... hope this helps!

Re: Utili-track Toolbox Confusion

Somewhere I just saw the UT Toolbox Bolt Kit listed. You can get it off Ebay for 40 bucks and mount any correct size box onto the UT. Didn't know it was sold seperately.

Re: Utili-track Toolbox Confusion

Okay - so to clarify - I was going to use the non-nissan "Trac-rac" system for the actual rack and the Nissan Utili-track for the toolbox.

I had one on my previous Titan that didn't have the nissan utili-track system and loved it. One problem was it was rated to 1000lbs and I tried putting a whole bundle (200) 2x4's on it - the forklift dropped it on the truck and busted the side wall on my Titan (the Trac-rac held up nicley). I went down to the dealer to see about getting another unrelated part and they had my identical truck with 37K less miles on the lot plus it had the utili-track and not a single ding (mine had been well used shall we say). I gave them $6,500 bucks and they gave me my new toy! After browsing here I found out that the factory equipped utili-trac beds are reinforced - although I can't see myself putting much mor than a ladder or a few 2x4's again in the future - I just like the chrome of the Trac-rac over the dark color Utili-track rails.

So - I was going to get the sliding toolbox as long as it can be mounted close to the bed (2-4 inches max) and not come up above the Trac-rac rail.

I am open to doing this different ways - I just want a deep tool box (that can hold 5 gallon paint buckets which I seperate my tools with) and a sliding rack in chrome that I don't see putting more than 200 lbs on.

So can I use any 60" box and mount it to the utilitrack or do I need the Nissan part?

Re: Utili-track Toolbox Confusion - New information

I just discovered a huge reson for the confusion.

I saw on NissanParts.org a Utilitract toolbox that goes all the way to the be - nice and deep like what I am looking for - the problem is the picture is for part number 999T2-BR200 which is the utili-track toolbox for the Frontier not the Titan - all of the Titan boxes seem to be half the depth of the Frontier version!!!

What the heck are they thinking?
