Question Installation of Fog lights?

I'm sure I'm not the first to ask and could have looked on the threads but there's just so many. MY SE didn't come w/fog lights but would like to have them installed.

1. My SE has outlets right next the fog light covers just hanging there; is this meant for ready-to-plug in OEM fog-lights?

2. If I buy them myself, is it that easy to install and is there a swicth on my 08 SE ready to use for this or is there additional modifications. If so, then I might just have the Pro's at Nissan do the install.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Joe

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

i was in your same situation, i bought the fog light kit from courtesyparts.com for about $170(i think it may be cheaper now, not sure if there is a diff. for '08 though). it comes with fog lights, a new blinker switch with fog light control, and is very easy to install. the wires by the fog lights are functional.

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

It took longer to read the instructions than it did to do the install on my '04!

VERY easy, need 1 phillips-head screw driver.

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

Here is a link to OEM equipment and installation instructions. It comes with the fog lights, the stock (to activate the lights) and instructions. It is a VERY easy install. :http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasit...5882_5884.html
scroll down to the middle of the page.

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

Yes, OEM kit. Oh, I forgot, you need a wrench or socket to secure the lights themselves.

Biggest problem with the new switch-stalk was lining up electrical plug, and that wasn't a problem really. Pretty idiot-proof. (You can't screw it up, just won't "click" until everything is right.

I got mine from a local Nissan dealer who beat courtesy just by telling him I could do better on-line. Might be worth a phone call....

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

do they make a "HID" colored bulb that can be put in instead of the yellow colored ones that come w/ the kit?? I have 8000k hids and want fogs but the factory yellow color will look bad with them. what is the best option?? thanks!!!!!

Re: Installation of Fog lights?

If you are going to get the Nissan kit, make sure it's for the 08. The 04-07 kit will work but the stalk will look different. Make sure the kit has an 08 stalk. While there is no kit market for the 08 as of yet. Some vendors will swap the stalk out to an 08 stalk.
