Hard to tell without it being finished and painted, but I think I like it.

I think that truck might belong to DunesRunner08. You could ask him, he has it posted on post #9 of this thread:

As I have tried pointing out to DunesRunner08 over there. Mounting is the weak link as far as winching or using it to pull out a stuck buddy.

I finally took 8 seconds to go to thier webpage and read the FAQ's. They use the "Bolt On" mounting technique. While that is the same as what I am currently doing, I would not recommend using this for any sort of tugging action. I am going back in with my buddy who built it to weld it on. I started with bolt only so I could go back to stock if I sold it. I am not worried about that any longer. Plus I can plasma any hints of the welds away.

This bumper looks so much like mine I wonder if they read my build up. LOL. Looks good though, and much better offering than the road armour or others. IMHO

The only bumper hat I have seen that properly bolts to the frame (and) tow hook locations is the Buckstop bumper.

Excellent thought. I might add that to the addtions we are going to make. I am still not willing to trust bolts only though. Given the forces at work from so many angles when jerking or winching, I would think even using the two extra pairs of bolts would not be enough. Good old solid welds will cure all that ails though. hehe..

I will have to look at the area where the tow hook mounts are. I am not altogether sure that you could use them with mine or this one we are discussing.

Re: Found another winch bumper

Would an upgrade to a grade 8 bolt or higher help with the shearing or breaking on kits like this? I am sure most come with a grade 5 or lower.

Re: Found another winch bumper

I did upgrade to Grade8 bolts, but the nuts welded into the frame are not going to be any stronger. I am not real keen on the idea of backlash including my bumper. Might be a bit OCD on my part though.... LOL

I can't say for certain that they would break. I just have a real good understanding of what is, or isn't, involved in our trucks front ends now.
