Re: Tonneau cover help!!!

Copy and paste from TundraSolutions.com dated 4-18-08:

I Installed a Backflip G2 in October of last year. When I receive the cover I immediately tried to return it but the company told me they would have to charge me a 15% restocking fee and I would have to pay the $120 to ship it back so I decided to try it out for a few months to see what would happen so here is my 6 month review….

Please note that my other thread about this cover has been deleted. I guess backflip is a sponsor but here goes.

Please remember in the 6 months I have owned this cover I have only opened fully it maybe 8 times.

Installation was fairly easy. If you have bed rails you might as well just throw them out. The solution they have for lowering the rails is a joke. Renders the rails useless. I took them out after a week.

The Look of the cover is great actually. I wish someone would make one of these that lasted more than a few months.

On to the good stuff.

After a few weeks I noticed the seams started coming unglued. The “owner” of the company told me I did not have the G2 because it is not glued and is a “far superior” product. I indeed do have the G2.

This picture shows where the seams started coming apart.

Every seam looks the same:

This is where the rubber gets gouged trying to flip it back.

This morning was the final straw. I went to get a truck load of mulch so I opened the cover and went on my way. While I was unloading the mulch I noticed that the cover had SPLIT from the aluminum housing that holds the cover and the seams together. I looked in the seam and noticed they were only held in place by a small bead of glue:

In closing....

The G2 leaks like crazy, the rubber falls apart and the seams on every section have come unglued.

I feel like I have been robbed right before my eyes. And then lied to about it.

If anyone wants it I will keep it in the garage for another week. If you are in the charlotte area you can come pick it up. I will find something better.
