Unhappy Utilitrack Overhead Rack Help!!! Blown Fuse

I am installing the Nissan Utilitrack Sliding Overhead Rack and have run into a problem I have not seen discussed. Everything with the installation went fine until it was time to test the lights and turn the truck power on. With the system completely installed, the 10 amp fuse for the lights blows everytime i turn on the truck power and press the brake. I have checked all of the connections and wires and they as as directed with no chaffs or shorts that I can see. When I disconnect the wire in the wire channel in the bed that powers the brake light mounted to the rear rack (and replace the fuse), everything works fine. As soon as I plug in the rack light and apply power, the fuse blows again.

Anyone have this problem and maybe a solution? There is nothing in the installation instructions.

Did you try reversing the connection or the wires? The result so far is sort of obvious. Tell us how it turns out.

Re: Utilitrack Overhead Rack Help!!! Blown Fuse

I decided I didn't like the big light on the racks, so I disassembled it and left it off....

I'm heading down to the garage soon and I'll take a look at the wiring and see if I notice anything. The connections are all blade type and kind of a pain in the *** to undo.
