Front up or Back down???

Need thoughts on bed-leveling by either a front leveler kit or a shackle kit to lower the back. I am going to eventually install an Armada Air Dam and (hopefully, if I can find some) Armada step-rails. Not sure if I would loose some clearance that may drag these things to the ground on occasion.

THoughts? Thanks.

PRG sells a nice shackle kit.

The air dams looks nice on street trucks.

Re: Front up or Back down???

Depends on whats needed for your usage, IMO I would do front up but if your into the street scene with 24`s you should lower the rear

I say, "NEVER BACK DOWN!!!!" Stand up for yourself! Be a man! Don't take crap from anybody!

Oh... wait... your truck........ Nevermind.

Level the front AND put the PRG shackles in the rear. Consider it a safety option.

As Villim12 said, it depends on what you're going to do. In my (not so humble) opinion it's just WRONG to lower a 4x4. But, keep in mind the higher you go the lower your MPG. I chose to raise the front to almost match the rear. I do go offroad so lowering it just wasn't an acceptable option.

Re: Front up or Back down???

I would say move forward in stages, going with the least expensive and moving on up. There is merit in upgrading the shocks on all fours, but maybe you want to replace those when your current ones fail. Get the shackle kit from PRG for about $140 compared with $700+ dollars for front shocks. With the three mount positions of the shackle, you have some flexibility for adjustments. Should you decide to raise the front later, you will be able to raise the back again to stock height with these shackles.

Personally, there is nothing wrong with slightly lowering the rear to level out the trucks profile. In my case, the only reason I have a 4x4 is for pulling out of primitive boat landings and for winter driving. Keeping the drive line level is a plus to maintain current mpg. With my truck set up as a daily driver, good road manners are more important than off road performance. Since you are considering a front air dam, which is less desirable for a lifted truck, it sounds you too are looking to improve on road performance and looks.
