? About mirrors

I got a 06 LE Crew Cab with chrome mirrors I want to trade for black ones. My mirrors have the memory function and the turn signals inside the mirror. What other models will interchange with my mirrors? I have been searching hig and low for the mirrors, even car lots, and havent found 1 single LE without chrome mirrors.

As long as they are from the same trim level (ie. LE to LE or SE to SE) they will be interchangeable with no modification. Since you have an LE, you need mirrors from another LE. The chrome is a cap and does come off. You can either buy new black caps for them or trade with someone who like chrome.

So technically speaking, I could just trade the caps with someone with black caps who wants chrome. and not have to trade the whole mirror assembly? SO this way would technically let me trade with anyone with black mirrors as long as they are the same style as mine which are non-B/T style.

That is correct....
I put the black caps on my truck last week.......Traded with Blavis...
If you can find someone who wants to trade it is really easy to change the caps....
The plastic clips that hold them on will break if you pry too hard....There are 4 on each mirror...Just manually move the big mirror until you can see each clip and use a long thin flat head screwdriver to release the clips...I used a small flashlight because it is dark in there....
I'm sure there is a "how to" section around somewhere if you want to check it out...
