Question Need new caps for American Racing Rims

The centre caps for my Rims are all beat to hell from the gravel roads, they are plastic which seems stupid to me but I was wondering where the best (cheapest/fastest) place to order new chrome ones would be? I could order the exact same ones from Kal Tire locally but they will just look the same in another year so I would rather get chrome than plastic. Kal doesn't order chrome ones for some reason. Any suggestions? Please and Thanks.

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

I'm a girl...girls like chrome. And I just looked and my husband lost one on Sat. nite (who fricken knows how) but he did have to go wash the truck yesterday cuz it was snowed to the fenders....I think it mighta wondered off road a bit with the guys after UFC. So now I gotta get some new ones for sure. I will try Kal Tire today again.

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

Usually when I buy wheels they have options for the center caps. Check and see what is available for yours. If your lucky they have a powder coated or stainless steel cap. The chrome/plastic caps you mention are usually the cheapies you get unless you pay for the upgrade. Could you post up a pic of the wheel and the cap? Maybe I can help you look around.Good luck.

I wasn't talking to you, hell you got less chrome than me! wanna trade handles??

Alley, those caps are known to fall of easy. Just leave em off or get new rims, all it takes is a pot hole for one of those caps to pop off. Poor design IMO.

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

Okay. here is some pics. I didn't buy these rims new, they were on the truck when i bought it. And in the past I never did anything changing of rims on my other vehicles. I didn't want to get anything till spring cuz i was kinda thinking about getting new rims totally but now my husband says they are fine so we will keep them until I am back at work full time. Any help is great thanks.

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

your wheels are the American Racing Fuel series. I have a similar set in black. They take a snap in dome cap. Unfortunately so far I can only find the chrome covered plastic cap. The good news is they are around $15 each so even if you had to replace them once a year or every couple of years it's no biggie. I will do some more looking and see if I can find a stainless version. Here is a link: American Racing Center Caps - summitracing.com

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

This is a link to the exact replacement cap and they are even cheaper than I thought, less than $13 each. I will post up if I find something that looks like it will be more durable. American Racing 1307100000 - American Racing Center Caps - summitracing.com

Re: Need new caps for American Racing Rims

Thanks so much Luv. I will keep cruising around on the net/ebay to see if I can find them. Now I know what i am looking for. There seems to be allot of "push thru" caps. We might just order some plastic ones but I would rather find metal so they last better. Thanks again.
