Increase in "roughness"

Over the past couple of weeks, my Titan seems to have become more rough when it comes to bumpy roads. I have checked the pressure in my tires (Dueler Revos) and that is not the cause.

I have roughly 39K miles on my truck...is it time to consider the suspension? Also, I notice a metallic clanging sound when I hit larger than normal bumps.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

KF

Re: Increase in "roughness"

Sounds like your about due for some new shocks. The OEM are crap and the metallic clanging on bumps is probably the OEM shocks going to full extension due to thier lack of limiters. They are crap. Mine with 31K miles are getting terrible. It will be Bilstiens for me before long.

Out of curiosity, what does the TSU in your screen name stand for

So, what you're saying......

Your Titan rides rough over bumpy roads??

Shocks might help, but why not avoid the bumpy roads???

that logic won't work BB, they are everywhere.

I experienced a lot of rough riding now that i have rolled over about 33k on the truck. I plan to upgrade the shocks and coil overs through PRG and maybe do they 4" performance package.

I also have the leveling kit on, but I don't think that was the item affecting the ride quality, i believe it to be the shocks.

Well, my tax dollars are at work but apparently none of that goes towards fixing the roads.

Re: Increase in "roughness"

Is there any way that I can check my suspension to confirm whether it is the culprit or not?

Could you give a ballpark figure as to what that would cost me to fix?

Troy University in Alabama? I'm from Dothan lol. Don't mean to steal the thread but the OEM shocks are bad on the 4WD trucks or all of them?

Re: Increase in "roughness"

When I changed the front shocks to Bilsteins at 12K I pressed them in all the way and turned them upside down......mistake as all the oil fell out of both of them.
OEM shocks are worthless.
