Re: Third brake light removal?

I changed mine out to LED. It's easy, go in from the inside of the cab and pull off the 2 little plastic covers above the window and you'll see 2 nuts holding the break light bolts. I think it was a 10mm.

Re: Third brake light removal?

Sure have. From the inside of the vehichle in the back on the headliner, there are two little plastic plugs. just pull them out with your fingernails. Kind of deep inside of the headliner, there is a bolt on each side. I can't remember if they are 8 or 9 mm. Take the nuts off, and push the third brake light outwards, unplug the harness, and you are all finished. Good Luck.

On mine, the weatherstripping was kind of tacky, so you have to push it out kind of hard, and you can hear the seal breaking. So dont think there is something else you forgot.

Re: Third brake light removal?

It helps to put a tiny piece of putty in the deep socket to keep from loosing your nuts on installation or removal.

Yeah it's not fun when you lose your nuts.

Re: Third brake light removal?

Easy to remove, I took mine out to out run the Sirius antenna from teh roof to the inside of the truck.

I would be interested in seeing som pictures of the after market lights installed though as I am interested in replacing mine with a brighter one, also considering teh light bar under the tailgate.
