I have a set of ProComp Explorer 5" 55w fog lights that did not come with wiring kit. I want to use them in stead of the stock fog lights so that the column switch activates my new ProComps. I picked up a basic aux wiring kit at Autozone and a 4 pin 30 amp relay. How should I wire this up? From searching it looks like members have done something similar but I haven't found a diagram or info on how to tap into that switch.

so I understand correctly, you want to remove your current stock fog lights and wire the new procomp ones in?
If that's what you want to do, then I would just remove current fogs, cut the bulb harness off (so you can use later if you want to put them back on) and then run your wires from there to your new lights.
There might be a better way, but this is what i would probably do.
If you want to keep the stock fogs to work in conjunction with your new procomp lights. then you will need to run a relay (as you know already) and tap into one of the stock fog light power wires as your switch source, then just ground each light, ground the relay, and run a power wire to the relay from the battery with an inline fuse and you should be all set. This way all four of your lights would come on with the stock switch.
See the attached pic for the second mention install. pin 30 on the relay is 12v from the battery, pin 87 is the 12v to the lights (split this wire to both lights), pin 86 is your switched source, and pin 85 is a ground.

dang chris, didn't know you was a wiring genius! wanna hook up my 9" HIDs when i get em? off course i will compensate you for your time.
I wouldn't suggest using the factory harness to run 55w bulbs. The stock bulbs are only a 37.5w bulb, so it might not be safe to run more through it.
If you don't have factory fogs and aren't going to have them (it doesn't sound like you do/are) then use what would be the output to the factory fogs as the trigger (pin number 86 in the diagram) on the relay. This will allow you to use the factory stalk switch for the fogs you're putting on.

for hooking me up with the sticker, you name the place and time and I'll wire up anything you want! I wired in my stock fogs and you wouldn't even be able to tell that the factory didn't put them in. I've done lot's wiring jobs, hell i just put leds in my sons pinewood derby car (and he won best in show!). I'm also working on wiring in floor lights and puddle lights into my t.
Carbeaux has a point regarding the wattage, but the headlights have the same gauge wire as the fogs as best I can tell, so it should be ok - but it's your ride your choice.

I used 885 50 watt bulbs for over two years with no problems.
2 55 Watters are still just a hair below 10 Amps Draw. Many have done the upgrade as daptech.
1 Disadvantage of using the OEM circuit, is that the Off Road Lights will only come on with Low Beams. The Fog Lights cut out when you switch on High Beams. On my previous vehicle, I used a Relay and tied into the High Beam to Activate them, for maximum brightness when needed.

I never had fog lights but installed the fog light stalk and used a (actually 2) relays to run my three 100 watt LaPaz lights.
I wouldn't use the factory fog light harness to run 55 watt lights either, I play it safe and use a relay.
People are correct when stating that the fog lights are turned off while using the high beam with the factory stalk, but I like it that way because it's a real quick way to shut down my off road lights. It may leave on my hi beams, but that's a big step down from my O/R lights for sure...

Oh yeh....I replaced the screw that holds on the mirror with a trick black oxide one that nobody will see or care about...
Thats right, I am using the procomps only in place of the stock fog lights in a KenMtn Bumper.
Thanks for all the help. I think I will use christo's diagram but use the white wire (output stock fogs) to pin 86 as carbeaux mentioned. The other wire that went to the stock fogs looks black so I am assuming that is the ground. Can I just attach the ground from my new procomps to the old ground for the stock fogs? I am trying to keep it clean and neat.

I don't see any reason you can't ground them there. Good a place as any. Do the lights you're going to use actually have a ground wire? Many lights just ground through the base where they're attached.
The procomps have a red wire and a black wire. The black wire is just stripped, no type of connector on it. But the bumper has a bed liner coating on it, even if i scraped it away where the fog lights attach I don't think that would be sufficient ground. Would it?

Since the lights come with a hot and a ground, no, it wouldn't do you any good to scrape stuff off the bumper. Use the black wire as your ground. You can take it to the harness or to anywhere that you can find a bare bolt that's grounded. The ground is usually easy to find a spot for that's convenient and unobtrusive.
