Nitto Terra Grapplers....

Have a set of them on the way, and should be installed this week.

I've done some research on line about these tires, but wanted to get the forums input on them too. I've seen 2 Titans with them installed, and they look very nice.

So, what are your thoughts on the Terra Grapplers?

Great tires!! running them for about 1 year now, handle great in snow, wet, on and off road.

Re: Nitto Terra Grapplers....

I have had them for about 9 months now and I like them a lot. They are not the greatest in mud, sand, or snow. (for me anyways.) They have a nice aggressive look to them and do pretty well offroad. They do not seem to make much noise on road, but I have a Nismo exhaust so that is all I hear. They have a pretty good feel on the road, they handle well, and do fairly good in rain. I think you will like them.

Here are a couple of videos of mine offroad.

Re: Nitto Terra Grapplers....

I use mine in the deserts of So. Kalifornia and they have worked great...I've made some sandwash runs and they got me thru when I was sure I was going to get stuck.

Street manners seem good....not too noisey

Re: Nitto Terra Grapplers....

i'd agree with whats written. they look the part and do a fairly decent and certainly better then stock job on the offroad stuff. on road they are a pleasant tire that isn't annoying and handles reasonably well.

Re: Nitto Terra Grapplers....

Got them installed yesterday, and they are great. Look great, ride still feels good, and not much road noise at all. Now I need to go find some mud......

Re: Nitto Terra Grapplers....

Man Zkeys those are some pretty sick trails for a big ole full size truck to be on! Looks like the titan handled it with ease though. Those look like 35's under yours Zkey are they? How do they fit with just the mini lift?

Hey man!

Most of the trails out in Utah are on what is called slickrock. It is basically sandstone rock that you drive over. Excellent traction at all times. There are some tight switchback turns every now and then, but nothing 2-3 point turns can not handle. The only thing is that titan is wide and I have tons of brush scratches all down the body, but oh well.

I am running the 295-70-17 Terra Grapplers which are roughly 33." Those fit just fine with a mini-lift, and I did not have any issues when I was stock height either. The only thing is that they are made for an 8" and above rim, and the stock rim is only 7.5." There are many thoughts on this, but I have been running them with no issues. There are people that run bigger tires on this rim and do not have issues either.

The Titan does very well off-road. The arrival and departure angles are fairly descent with the mini-lift. However, being a long vehicle the breakover angle is not the best. I drug many a skidplate...

All in all it did pretty well. I was hoping to purchase a off road only vehicle to take on my trips, but I may consider beefing the T up a little more and just use it!

Thanks,

Zack
