Hey Guys, I purchased a set of 35w 6000k HID's off eBAY 3+ years ago, they lasted a long time and then I finally had a ballast firing issue. I replaced them with a set of 35w 4500k HID's from DDM. I bought them for my dad's 2008 Silverado as a Christmas gift but it turns out Chevy changed to a H-11 bulb. I am not digging the color too "halogen" for me. So I was wondering, and I did do a search, has anyone purchased the 55w kit from DDM. If you have are they the brightest things on earth? I can't find the amperage draw on firing. I dont want to have to wire a relay I just want plug and play. I am thinking of the 55w 8000k kit.

just an FYI, 10k 55W arent gonna be the brightest possible light you can get.
Figure if you jump from 35W to 55W you lost about 1000k worth of color.
Im currently running 6000k 55W headlights in my Titan and they are literally blinding to oncoming traffic. I ordered a set of 55W 3500k fogs and im just waiting on them to show up.
So for low beams do you think 55w 8000k would be too blinding for driving around the city and stuff because i already blind people now from my lift but super bright bulbs sounds nice lol

You just gotta adjust your headlights, if your headlights were properly aimed no one would be blinded

If you want 8000k color, you can only get it with 35W HIDs.
If you go to a 10000k bulb in 55W, youre going to be a lot more blue than 8000k 35W. Does that make sense?
I am running 6000k and they are very very white with a small hint of blue to them. They light up the freeway from shoulder to shoulder (4 lanes wide) if im driving in either of the middle lanes and i drown out BMW HIDs when im driving door to door with them.
Yea thats why I was thinking 8000k 55w because I figured 6000k 35w lights look pretty good with that hint of blue in them so i would need the 8000k 55w ones to get the same look just in a brighter version
I was wondering if anyone using the 55 watt HID kits have had any power issues from the main power leads. I have heard that the orginal headlight wires have melted away when using the 55 watt kits. Just trying to confirm this or is it just a rumor.

Umm...I sure hope not. I just ordered the DDM 55 watt 6000k kit and its going to arrive next week.
