Re: My grille mods

Eddie what's the word on your family in Samoa? Hope all are safe.

I would also be interested in a mesh grill for the lower opening, looking
forward to seeing what you come up with. The lower needs a grill to protect
that stuff! Metal mesh is perfect.

Are your bumper corners rhino lined or painted? I've thought of doing that and really appreciate you posting photos to get an idea of how it looks.

thx. yea the grille is real easy to do. it pulls apart. just undo the clips in the back & pull apart. then gut it and cut out whatever you want to use for inserts, lay em down & clip the grille back together. easy makeover. it's a fun lil project.

Bumper grill that retains front plate is great thinking. I have a skid plate and the front plate bracket is attached to it. Personally I'd like to see it attach to the plastic frame that's there already. Unfortunately the spaces between the bars are so big the only things that wouldn't fit through it would be so big that it would probably break the plastic anyway.

Have you considered line-X instead of paint on your corners?

Glad your prayers were answered and the family is safe.

Re: My grille mods

looks sick, my next mod I think. Should look good with the lower grill mesh too. Can you do a little write up if it works out for you?

Re: My grille mods

Hey man, looks very nice! You gave me the idea of painting my corner bumper on my 04' KC SE 4x4 this past weekend, its smoke gray but the corner bumpers were looking rough so I ended up sanding them and priming them flat black. Looks really good now, my next questions is on my Titan the lower chrome grill I have a ding in it, do you think its possible to pull it off and try knocking it back out? If I can do that I would like to clean it up and possibly get it re-chromed because I like it the way it is, it just has this annoying ding on the top right corner.

Next, I have a stock grill as well I was wanting to paint it black but I want to put that mesh behind it, can I simply buy a piece of mesh metal and mount it to the back of the grill? Sorry, I've never done these kinds of projects but it sure is fun learning!
