Your going to have to call your local muffle shops etc to ask that question. Although, if the 'kit' is complete, it could be a bolt up you could do yourself. You could e-mail 4x4parts.com to find out.

I haven't checked out that setup yet, but I can tell you that I installed a single 3" Flowmaster cat-back on my Dakota and it used the stock hangers. I was able to this myself. The only thing I've heard is the recommendation that you have it welded in addition to the clamps. I have been meaning to have that done for about a year now, but it hasn't caused any problems.

You guys should be aware that if that 3" pipe is larger in diameter than the stock pipe that you could lose a significant amount of low-end torque.

Very true statement RE: the loss of backpressure.

This and the other postings are just FYI for everyone as wel all know, somewhere, somehow and prolly not too far off - Somebody is gonna Turbo or Supercharge one of our babies....LOL

Will the Nissan warranty be gone once we modify? Cold air intakes, custom exhaust, etc.?

It is my understanding that if you do modify that yes, you will loose factory coverage under that related area of the modification.

Example - Throw a supercharger on it right now and I am sure you will loose coverage on the drivetrain but it would not say void it on the electronics etc.

A good guideline sometimes is to follow what is being offered on the nissan parts sites and in the dealers parts departments. If they carry what you have done, then most times your arguement can stand on that basis.

Also, any other mods you may contemplate, see if the mfg provides a warranty. Especially if your paying an installation fee.

You will notice that NISMO is the stuff for nissans like TRD is for toyota.
Expect to see some stuff come out from them for the Titan.

I measured stock tailpipe and got 2 7/8 in in diameter.

Warrranty is ok on aftermarket exhaust as long as you dont mess with cat. As far as backpressure i would be very carefull. I just installed a flowmaster Hotrod hemi kit yesterday. I do feel loss of low end. Not alot, but i can tell a difference. If the computer dont adjust too it, i may go back too stock. It sounds sweet as hell though! I love the sound. Be very carefull about what exhaust you choose for your trucks. Hemi is stock with 3inch so i didnt think it would lose anything. It may not have, but it feels like it atleast. Just do alot of research on your exhausts before you change.. Good luck guys.

thanks budmanhemi, do you know how much your flowmaster was supposed to cut backpressure? if is it a dual out system that will hurt the low end unless your stock setup came with duals. did the system come with a dyno? it may be that its louder especially when accelerating at low rpms and gives the false impression your not moving as fast?

The new system is a single in dual out setup. I too was wondering if maybe the sound has me thinking i am not moving as fast. Its very hard too tell. When the track opens i will be able to confirm weather i lost any power. I will let you know when i get too run it this year..

Good news for all! I spoke with Gibson Performance on 3/1/04 and they have the 3" single exhaust available for our trucks.

They are available thru Summit Racing and pricing goes as follows:

Single 3" Aluminized Steel is $353 - part number is 12208

Single 3" Stainless Steel is $484 - part number is 612208

I called Summit and they added the part number to there system with pricing. Gibson said they will be in stock and ready to ship on 3/8/04

The nice thing is Summit Racing charges only a handling fee of $8.95.

Gibson Performance said the single 3" will be the quietest and achieve the most power gains. Only a 2-4 DB increase in noise. The guy on the phone took my name and number and is going to call me whne they have the dyno numbers available.
I will be ordering the Single 3" system for my Titan sometime this month. I will try and post pictures of the install when I get it!
