Volant vs. K&N
Okay guys now that we have seen both setups with pictures and have advice from both users what do you think? It looks like the Volant would seal off engine heat alot better then the K&N. Whats your thoughts?

well im kinda leaning toward the volant system it really hides the filter away which also helps in filtering. it seems it would also keep the air a little cooler. i do like the looks of the k and n system also. if i was buying today it would be the volant

Well I ordered my Volant from www.truckperformance.com This looks to be the best solution. I think the fact it will utilize the factory locations and is a true cold air system it will work the best.... When I get it I will post results from the Butt Dyno..

as for the aem setup my buddy had one on a honda and that thing did make a difference but it relocated the filter inside the wheel well for true fresh air. im not sure it would be that much better on the titan unless they relocate the filter as on the honda.

That's why I choose not to get the ram air scoop with it... I picked up the Volant COLD air intake system by itself. It's a true cold air since the intake is totally isolated from warm engine air.. Construction is alot better then the K&N system. AEM isn't bad if you like to have shiney chrome under the hood, not for me though. I wanted something that appears to be stock.. Volant makes some good stuff but it's kinda expense... |
