Sammy, First off thks for all of your input on all of the exhuast related threads. I have been to 2 of probably most reputable exhaust places here in Jacksonville, Fl and both said that the x-pipe like the one you have will void my warranty due to the O2 sensors. You have probably addressed this before but could you enlighten me......

I don't think so because all of Sammy's mods are from the Cat back so his mods shouldn't void the warranty any more than the Banks or Gibson which don't.
But I don't do exhausts for a living so what do I know?

I would have said the exact same thing 37L1, I fail to see how anything I've done would void the warranty. Everything was done behind the factory flanges, the same flanges that the Banks, JBA, Borla, etc use to bolt to. In fact, the vast majority of custom exhaust installs are made from those flanges back. And I really see how it has anything to do with the O2 sensors, as they are up forward on the cats. And an X-pipe would be have no different effect emissions wise than the factory Y-pipe or an aftermarket Y or H.
I just called in to my local dealer sevice department here in Missouri, and the sevice manager said as long as you are behind the cat back, everything up to the engine is covered. He said as long as the installers don't damage the converter in any way everything should be fine. He mentioned that from there back is not covered any more, which is a big "duh" because from there back isn't their exhaust system any more. Just dropping that in.
My Banks has a better warranty than the stock TITAN exhaust.

Hey Guys - I just got back from the local muffler shop. I told them that I want my exhaust to look exactly like sammy's! They only concern that they had with adding the duals was routing the new pipe around the spare. They don't think theres enough space between the spare tire and the shock. They think that the boot on the shock (I have the off-road package) would melt from the heat. Has anyone else had this problem? Would I want to take the boots of the shocks? Any other ideas to make this work? Thanks!
Should still have at least 2"s of clearance if they are using 2.25" pipe, probably even more if they really hug the spare. I wouldn't think it would get hot enough to melt the shock boot. If you are really concerned about it, just wrap that section of pipe with some header wrap and it should be fine. Let us know what happens.
I looked again.............it will be very tight between the spare and boot. Do you think it would be OK for the pipe to actually touch the spare tire? I would think that a rubber tire would hold up to the heat better than a plastic boot?

My local muffler guy told me that he would do the dual pipes but would not recommend it due to the proximity of the lines. He's done work for me before and I trust his judgement. Not sure what to do now.

This is exactly what my local guy told me. Still stumped.

I say go ahead and do it. I've had mine on for nearly 3,000 miles now with no adverse effects. When I had my Blazer's exhaust done the installer said the same thing; too close to the brake lines. So I sided with him and went with the single out, and I regreted it. Several of my friends had Blazers with duals and no problems, call it tail pipe envy. Also note that I'm not the only one to have dual exits set up, several others here have as well and not posted any problems. Like I said earlier, if it's that big of a concern, buy some header wrap or wrap the lines in heat reflective tape. I don't think it's necissary, but it might give you peace of mind.
I'm getting ready to install my Flowmaster 70 series, dual exhaust set up - just waiting for my magnaflow tips to show up on Monday. Sammy - thank s for sticking with this great thread and for all the information and photos. I had my list of parts, and photos and went to a custom exhaust shop - it was a big help - and the shop owner was impressed with the work on your truck Sammy. Can't wait - hope to have it done by next Friday.
Also, put a Fram Airhog, drop in Hi-Performance filter in today - just like the K&N drop in.
Gearman, just wondering how you like the Fram Airhog. Do you see any difference from stock?

the first installer told me the same line issue. went to another shop, then came back to the first shop and another tech ( at the same shop mind you) said he would do it--guess he wanted the commision more than the first guy. just have them cicnh up the lines, and the third larger line they may have to just redirect it, no problem this way
