FIPK Pics

Well here are the pictures that I promised awhile ago. Sorry that it took so long. As for performance gains all I can say is that when the truck gets to the upper rpms the thing is a BEAST. The tires try and spin but the ABLS takes over. Also MPG is at a 18.5 all the time. Thats with a mix of highway and city.

P.S. Enjoy the pic of my pride and joy.

What are those spots on the intake? Is your radiator cap leaking?

I'd like to know the cost too... and did it take long to install? Difficulty?

Maybe I gave myself away as a non-mechanical kind of person. GRIN.

Cute baby too!!!

Yes it seals off when the hood is closed and then draws air in from the hole in the fender.

It cost 270.00 shipped from www.truckperformance.com

I dont think that there was a low end loss, actually feels stronger.

Spots are actually water or rad grime one of the two. chicago winter sucks

And Yes she is my Daughter. Her name is Emma and she is 4.5 months old.

This is me and my family. I am the guy and thats my Wife and Daughter

Install was a snap. The instructions that where provided where great. My dealer said that it would not void the warranty.

K&N Filter Charger

Hey Guys,

Just installed my Filter Charger last night. It was easy enough to install, but K&N shorted me one of the required hoses. A quick trip to Auto Parts got me a replacement hose for about $ 1.00. First time I revved it up, I knew something was different. It sounds like I added a blower and a different exhaust, but only when your foot is in the gas. It definitely has more power, but BEWARE. If you want your truck to be quiet in the cab during hard acceleration, stick with the factory set up. The Filter Charger definitely changes the sound inside the truck to a "hot rod / high performance" type of sound. I like it, but wow, its a pretty big change. I'm VERY anxious to see if I get better mileage. I drive alot of highway miles on the weekend, so I was primarly interested in the possibility of increased mileage. I sure hope it helps. The best I've seen thus far (with the factory intake system) was 16.5 MPG (not bad, but room for improvement?) As a side-note, I first simply replaced the factory air filter with a K&N unit. I was extremely surprised to see my mileage DROP, rather than increase,,,,,,,,,so.....I decided to spend the bucks on the Filter Charger. I'll let you know what kind of mileage I see once I've taken it on a trip.

MPG Update

Well I have had it for a few weeks and the millage has stayed right around 18. Sometimes more sometimes less. Well worth the money seeing that I already have 5000 miles and the truck was bought on 03/01.
