Subject: Nissan Titan
When is the ETA for the Jet Chips for the Nissan Titan! Starting to see a lot of Titans in the Houston area.
Personally, I would stay away from anything Jet puts out. I ended up shorting out the computer in my Jeep Cherokee after installing one of their chips (and it did nothing for performance either), and if you do some searching you'll find a lot of negative reviews about their computer products for just about every vehicle out there.
In all likelyhood the only company who will do anything as far as ECU's is JWT.

If you think that JWT is the only company that is going to make a ECU for the titan your wrong, matter of fact I would think that they would even think about it. They haven't even come out with one for the 350Z. They are several companies but I would expect that TechnoSqaure would be the first. Maybe nissan has something in mind. I just hope that they didn't engineer a learning curve into our ecus, like they did with the G35 and 350

It's the only one I will consider putting on my truck, I can say that.
I have a JWT ECU in my z32.

Well, considering that Clark at JWT bought a Titan, I expect to be seeing some products start rolling out.

Being new to the Forum and Nissan products, can you explain how JWT modifies the ECU, e.g., actual modification of ignition/fuel tables or JET's method of "fooling" the computer sensors - which doesn't really work IMHO.
FWIW, I spoke with Jayson, owner of MTI, who is one of the best Chevy PCM reprogrammers in the U.S. and asked how many HP could be gained by modifying the Titan's fuel/ignition tables for 93 octane fuel and he felt 10-15 rwhp ~ 15-20 flywheel hp max.; so beware of claims for greater hp.
As for exhaust mods, Jayson felt a few HP could be gained (I'm guessing 5-10 max. w/ catback) with the possible loss of some Tq.
The programming of the ECU is changed to reflect more aggressive timing, fuel/air mixture, etc. Of course, you don't get something for nothing....more HP = less gas mileage, and probably less engine life. Those aggressive timing profiles put you much closer to detonation territory.
More horsepower for the Titan? What the Hecksinkey for?

With premium gas pricing hovering around the $2 mark, I'm hesitant to go the reprogrammed route at this time for a realistic 10-15 rwhp. I'll go for intake and exhaust mods for Hp improvements for now -- famous last words.
The new program doesn't necessarily mean less gas mileage. With my Z, in fact, my gas mileage improved! This was a pretty common finding amoung z32 owners.
And to address the question as why more HP? Well, because some of us are addicted to the power. =)

id talk to nissan about what exactly they void from the warranty, not your dealer. pretty much your whole engine, possibly tanny, electrical, maby more. im not familiar with this ecu mod and if its tracable by nissans diagnostics or not though.
