Right around 475hp is avilable now for the new f-150`s . Heard some prerelease kits have been tested already on it.

Cool. Unfortunately they probably won't be too interested in the Titan until they sell some more of them.

Thumbs up First post

Guys, a supercharger is a great thing. I bought my Tundra a few years ago used, with 50k kms. I had heard TRD was developing a s/c for it.....I couldn't stand the wait. You will love the whine these things make. After having spent 4000.00 on mine I want more So now I'm going to get a larger crank pulley so that I can get 10 lbs of boost instead of the 6 I now have. I do wish the Tundra had a bigger block, maybe in 2006.

I do love the new Titan....I am test driving one this weekend.

nice forum guys,

mike

Gas mileage

I was getting around 17-18 with a 4x4 and now around 13-14 depending on how much foot is in it. I'm sure it has the potential to dip into the 10 mpg if I want to look for Hemi's.

"Nissan pegged plenty of performance benchmarks with the Titan because they knew the Titan had to be good to enough show up on the radar of domestic truck shoppers. “We don’t have a lot of credibility in this segment,” said Larry Dominque, Chief Product Specialist, Nissan Titan. Their goals for building the Titan were to make an expressive shape that had the best in class power, fuel economy and driving range.

To that end, the Titan comes with a 5.6-liter V-8 rated at more than 300 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque. Loosely based on the Infiniti V-8, Nissan calls this iteration the “Endurance” V-8. The 300 hp is achieved without the use of variable valve timing; Dominique says with VVT the engine can “easily make 30 or 40 hp more,” and also notes that a supercharger will fit neatly in the V-8’s 90-degree valley. The V-8 does have other semi-exotic hardware, though, including a microfinished forged steel crankshaft and moly-coated pistons."

So where is that neatly fitting supercharger? That should push things up to around 400 HP. Or are we forever doomed to eat the dust of SS Silverado's and even blown Tundras??
You lost to a Slowverado SS? The last guy I played around with couldn't even put a door on me to 70. Twice.

Engines with that kind of HP don't last long.

Last time I played with a turbo (it has been awhile) it suffered from (1) lag and (2) you had to be at high RPMS to get much out of it. Superchargers don't have these characteristics.

what kinda car was it?

with todays technolgy, that can be all but taken care of. i am hoping my car will make 400+ FtLbs of torque by 3500RPMs

a friends single turbo 302 with a 63mm turbo makes 500+ at 3500RPMs.

check out www.turbomustangs.com

turbos are awesome when setup correctly

a good place to talk to is www.dallasturbo.com
and
www.proturbokits.com

I'm with Sneaky. My best friend posts on Turbo mustangs and is a turbo guru (93Pony). It's a great site! It's all about the right sizing and matching the compressor map to the motor and HP wanted for most efficient boost. When things are set up correctly you can't beat them. They use less power to make power, don't put extra stress on the front main bearing, no belt to slip, when other mods are added they don't drop in boost pressure, and they make more power than blowers with less boost. Like my buddy usually says, it's more like blower lag, lol.

Sneaky what kit does your friend have? My buddy has incon twin turbos. I'm lookin at the HP performance kit.

Impressive. Can you get the whole thing setup for around $4k? Are they durable (100,000 miles)? They used to have problems with the bearings & intercoolers. These will last now?

I can't wait for the redesign of the 5.6. Nissan Performance says they are going NASTRUCK next year with the Titan. Rules say pushrods only, so nissan says they with bump displacement to 6.4L and HP should be around 450 in production trim. So where is that supercharger anyway. I hope Nissan puts a real hurtin' on dodge, they need it. I have several nissan's, won't buy anything else.
