Visited a truck aftermarket installation business today and they claim Superchips will soon release a programmer for the Titan. The guy claims to have seen it on Horsepower TV; however, I couldn't find any mention of that on the HP TV or Superchips website. They really have my hopes up while I await their call.
I bought a superchip for my 99 Ford F150 that I had... It was well worth the money! Performance throughout the powerband. I seriously hope they do come out with one!

I added a Superchip to my 95 Ford Ranger 4.0L 5 sp and enjoyed the additional power and an increase in gas mileage. I'm going to contact Superchip and see if they have something for the Titan. If they don't they're missing the boat.

On say an F150, the Superchip programmer allows you to:change shift rpm's, change shift pressure for each gear, calibrate speedo for gear or tire change, raise speed limiter, 3 different programs, run diagnostics. The parameters changed for power gains are: fuel mapping, injector duration, timing. Now the bad news, I have spoken extensively with Superchips' Engineers. They have NO plans to begin work for the Titans. So, we are talking about a pipe dream...Our best bet is Technosquare......They will at least talk about performance work on the Titan.

In the newest issue of Truckin' magazine they have a red and black Titan in it. It was a project truck for some company. BUT in the article they talked about the power addon's that they did to this truck and they said something about Superchips. Not sure if it's a mis-print or if it was a prototype from Superchips. Only time will tell.
Also in the same issue they have a "how-to" of an install on a set of JBA headers and cat-back exhaust. Nice issue for the Titan.

I contacted Superchip and they referred me to the Superchip LTD group (which works on foreign car parts), and they told me that they have no plans for developing a Superchip for the Titan at this time. I wonder if we all start bugging them if they'll change their minds. I would certainly love a Superchip for my Titan.
Ok, don't flame me for asking this, but after looking around e-bay, I saw several people selling a "chip" that will give you a "20 hp increase", and the thing is less than 10 bucks. I know its probably BS, but what is this thing? Is it entirley a gimmic, or is it worth something? Just curious, since we are on the chip subject.
Also, I saw a throttle body spacer that is supposed to give you more hp and torque. Will this thing foul up the computer sensors? And as above, is it a BS thing too?? Just really curious.

those things on ebay are just fixed resistors that altar the voltage of the signal from the mass airflow sensor to tell the computer that it is cooler than it actually is. this results in additional fuel to the cylinders from the injectors causing a slightly rich condition, and yes, more horsepower. cars are designed and manufactured to provide a totally efficient fuel/air ratio for emissions but the most efficient is not necessarily the most powerful fuel/air ratio.
I thought about ordering one since they are so inexpensive, but I would definitely wire it with a straight parallel wire and toggle switch so that I could cut it out of the circuit w/ just a flip of a switch and get my original, more efficient, burn back.
