Re: Catalytic Converter?

Your truck is like my 05 2wd and likely just has one converter on the manifolds and a resonator on each b pipe. If you still have the oem manifolds start saving money for headers because the manifolds will crack if not already. The oem bpipes have 17/8 inch restrictions which could be larger for more power. I have a jba catback and love the sound of it compared to the flowmaster but everyone has there own taste.

Re: Catalytic Converter?

Flowmaster doesn't really do much in the way of power period. If you want good "bite" to match with the "bark" use either Magnaflow, Borla, JBA, or Aerochamber. You don't need to do anything to your cats unless you're going to install LT headers. Search is your friend bud.

On the 4wd I would say dont do it...but the 2wd, you can remove the resonators.

Yes, you cant take the cats out or mess with them at all (beside replacement). In the case of a 2wd to make it louder...you can remove the resonators as they have no emissions purpose. They are there to smooth and quiet the sound. As long as you stay under the 95db i dont see an issue.

Re: Catalytic Converter?

If you got Stillen headers they provide emulators to wire in to the rear 02 sensor to trick the ecm. Also 02 sensor extensions to get the tip of the 02 sensor out of direct flow of the exhaust. And uprev can turn the cel light off with the tune. I would say get some stillens and wire in the emulators and larger bpipes with 02 extensions. That's what I did and no light so far on my 05 2wd.

Re: Catalytic Converter?

Stillen will not sale the emulator without the headers. You can use spark plug defoulers to back the sensor out of the flow to trick the ecm or pm me for another method....

Re: Catalytic Converter?

Hello everyone, been lurking around here for a while now. Was wondering about the last 2 converters myself, have an 08 tundra that I removed the last 2 converters with no problems. I was thinking about doing the same thing to my titan, but what the hell is a bpipe?

The B-Pipe is the two straight pieces of pipe coming off of your exhaust manifold. It should have a O2 sensor in each, along with either a cat or resonator. I
