Those that have bought this, have you tried it out yet? If so, how does it feel?

Yeah, sorry bro. I did click on that and saw that you already dyno-ed it. I was gonna edit my post, but was too enthralled w/the findings to edit it right away!

Couple of questions after reading the whole link . 1) did you get the ram air scoop yet? if so, how much extra $$? 2) How easy is it to mount?(i.e. for someone that has never done anything like that myself) 3) if you got the ram air, is there a noticible diff w/it also? 4)You guys were talkin about other mods; what about headers? As far as I've heard, headers are somewhat expensive, but really help out w/hp & torque.

I don't see why not. It would be 2 seperate items but I'm sure it can be done.

On to another topic, I feel like we've kind of hi-jacked this original post by Titanparts1. How about if we take it somewhere else? Before we do that how about if we go back and delete our posts that don't pertain to Titanparts1 question. Sound good?

Don't get upset now Dan, I wasn't in any way trying to be rude to you. Chris has moved my Volant dyno results to this forum so go on over there and ask away. I'll be happy to answer anything I can as I'm sure others will too.

I ordered the Volant, a hood protector, Truxedo lo-profile (utili-trac) and a Banks system from Jamie at Titanparts247.com. I got all but the Banks within 5 days. Have the hood protector and Truxedo on, they are great and easy to install. The Volant was easy to install but...

I really don't like the open hole for the ram air. Sucking air off the exhaust manifold really doesn't seem to fit the "cool air intake" theory well. The snorkel that should extend into the fender doesn't and has a good sized gap which will allow it to draw more engine compartment air. My unit had one hole in the bottome which didn't line up with anything. The spot for the MAF sensor was apparently made with a heated something, melted plastic was pushed in almost 3/8 of an inch. I checked the factory tube, it is smooth inside. The lid doesn't fit/seal well. I know one theory was it will draw more air, but it is more engine compartment air (the whole "cool air intake" theory again).

The sound is awsome. Liked the sound the first time I started it. Didn't like the service engine soon light that came on after the install. Liked when my truck died on the freeway today even less. Just merged on (with a purpose) and the truck sounded and acted like you put the choke on. Bogged down and died. I got over to the side, it would start and then die like the MAF was in wrong. Checked all the air intake lines, unplugged and replugged the MAF and it started. Still ran like **** though for about 3 miles. Came home and put the stock set up back on. It seems fine now, theory of maybe the excess plastic sticking in around the MAF is disrupting the airflow??

Seems like they may have rushed this unit to production, fit and finish should be a whole lot better for the money. Should come with instructions for installation and care. I emailed and called customer support (two calls) and have received no response.

The up side is Jamie at titanparts247.com he has been great to work with. Gave me great pricing, has responded promptly to my calls, shipped immediately and is going to work with me on the Volant issue. Even if I could have saved a buck or two his level of service (not to mention sponsoring this forum) is worth every penny.
