Looks good. Side exits are a plus when towing. Are those 4" tips, they look large?
Smoke: (1) inlet and (2) 2.5" outlets
Sammy: Good eye! 4" Dia. Polished S.S. Tips x 18" long w/ 2.5" inlets.
My previous Dakota R/T was done this way and I always liked it because all that can be seen are the polished tips. I "personally" never liked polished tips that could be seen, welded to rusty tailpipes, as it went down the road or from behind.
1) so if I tow alot I need side exits???--
2)oh yeah are you using flowmsaters??---is it a flow master 70.
3)Also why did you choose 2.5" pipes and not 2.25". as I thought the stock pipes are 2".
4)Finally what is you assessment of the perfomance and noise output--satified--anything you may change??
and if possible any underbody shots
thanks
sorry for all the questions, but I am getting my exhaust this weekend, and I dont want to sound like an idiot when I hit the shop as I have never installed a exhaiust system.
Depends on what you are towing. Rear exits might cause the exhaust to reverberate off of the trailor, making it louder in the cab. When I tow my small utility trailor the sound bounces right back because the trailor sits low and has two foot steel sides all around. I've yet to pull a boat in my Titan, but I have in my old Blazer and the sound is much less noticeable due to the shape of a boat versus the flat front of a utility trailor.

1. Sammy can answer that one.
2.Flowmaster Delta Series 70; tried 50 series first - was way too loud for me.
3.The installer chose the pipe size - maybe the Flowmaster is 2.5" out - not sure
4.The Flowmaster was primarily for the dual tip exhaust look as opposed to performance gains. MAY have gained a couple at most rwhp - not sure.
The 70's "noise" is not that bad and "may" be even quieter than stock at steady-state hiway speeds. The 50 had to much cabin NOISE for my taste in the 1500-2000rpm range.

I agree, but is up to a person's taste.

The 70 series single in/dual out only comes in 3" in and 2.5" out. Read here for more.

I did mine for the same reasons, except I went with the 70 from the begining.
Yo sammy one more last and final question I promise is it better to have a dual in-dual out setup or single in-dual out for performance. I am more inclined for appearance also, but if I can get more out of it like maybe 1-2mpg I would like the best inlet/outlet system--once agian thx alot!!

TTT
I would like to know about the inlets and outlets for performance as well. Looking at Flowmaster 70 and not sure what to get.
A dual in/dual out should yield better performance than a single in/ dual out simply because you are removing the Y-pipe which is pretty restictive. Not only that, but the 70 only comes in 3" inlet with dual outlets in either 2.25" or 2.5". So you'd either need to have some factory pipe spread to 3" or just replaced all together.

If, you remove the Y-pipe, I'd Highly recommend re-installing a Cross-over tube. This will not only balance the sound, but allow the pipes to scavenge any unspent fuel in the pipes (what the restrictive y-pipe is for). Peace.
Yes Tattoome. I've forgotten which thread I've replied to, because this question has come up so many times. But yes, an X or H is highly recommended. Do a search on the forum, I've posted elsewhere about it several times.
I went to two truck accessory shops here in North VA today and one did not make custom exhausts, the other quoted me $700 to $900 depending on how hard it was to make the system
I guess the muffler shops might be cheaper. I'm looking for muffler in all the wrong places...

Yeah, look around. I remember a couple places in Dale City that were pretty reasonable. I lived in Lake Ridge, not much in the way of muffler shops there. Manasas probably also has a few decent shops.
