how restrictive is the stolk Y pipe??????

I had a custome hot rod shop throw on my exhaust the other day but we put 3 inch mandrel bent right after the stolk y pipe all the way to the muffler and out the back.

My ? is I have been reading about the stolk Y being real restrictive and from what this shop said it looked to be a good desiighn other than the small piping.

So would it benifit me to go back and ge a Magnaflow Y pipe with 2.5 inlet and one 3inch outlet put on and have 2.5 piping mandrel bent from the stolk resonators to the magnaflow Y and match that up to 3in out to the rest of my exhaust or should I just keep it the way it is?

Basicaly do I stand a chace of gainng any MPG or HP more out of it?

Thanks Chris

The stock Y is pretty restrictive, but I don't if it would be worth it to go back and just switch that out, maybe if you replaced from the cats on back, it would be worth it. If you notice the piping shrinks down a bit going in and out of the resonators. Probably won't help with MPG or torque but might give you a little extra top end. IMO

If the Y Pipe was restricted why did magnaflow not include one in their cat-back kit. They said they lost power when they replaced it. The magnaflow cat-back hooks up right before the stock Y pipe. Does magnaflow make just the Y pipe. Thanks

i think the Y pipe has a design purpose, that brings the titans torque band down lower. my wifes 04 toyota camry solara, has the same setup. i think the japanese have found something.
