high pitched whine

I have noticed my truck makes this really high pitched whining right about 1700-2100rpms, not before and not after. i am concerned, because i have never had a car do that before. anyone have a similar issue? is it normal or should i take it to the dealership (btw i have only 400 miles).

2200 miles on mine and I hear the same high pitch whine. I would say almost similar to that heard on turbo diesel engines. Sounds possible like a restricted exhaust on mine. Well, if that is the case that will cease when the banks is installed...

I just got my 04 KC 4x4 no offroad Sunday and I have the exact same noise it is driving me nuts. I only have 350 miles on it. The noise is exactly as you describe, maybe even an electronic type high pitched buzz/whine.

The rear diff was low by about a quart (7/04 build yikes!). Filling it had no effect and the noise is comming from the front of the truck, engine or dash. The tires are all at 35 psi.

The issue only occurs durring normal driving with my foot on the gas, low speed (30) to freeway speeds (65-80).

Did anyone get this fixed at the dealer or have any ideas. I know if I take it in they will say it is fine and think that I am crazy or stupid.

i've got the same whine. at the same rpm range. to me it sounds like a throttle problem. if i set the cruise somewhere around 65, then i hear the whine when going up a hill (throttle opens). but when going down hill, (throttle closes some) the whine goes away. i don't hear it above 75mph or so because the rpms are kicked up to the 2200-2400 range. it's a weird thing for sure.

hey moore, have you found out anything yet? i'm considering taking it in for the whine. i also have a leaky side compartment that leaves things wet after a car wash. and a squeeky seat.

I just dropped the baby off at the dealer for this problem and some other minor stuff today. I don't expect to have it back until Monday (out of town) but I will let you know what happens.
Did you get a fix?

Hello fellow Titan owners, new to the forum, but signed on cause of things like this. I've recently noticed a whistle coming from the dash, during acceleration and when easing off the accelerator after transmission has shifted to OD. 4,100 miles on the truck and I’ve just noticed it maybe 300 or so ago. Trying to decipher the source and all I can think is at 3,350 miles I added the K&N FIPK Cold Air Charger (K&N Part# 63-1088). I've checked the cold air charger to see if anything was loose and all was good. Half tempted to reinstall factory air box and see if the whistle goes away. Noise is not really all that annoying but bugging me whether or not its doing any harm. If anyone finds the source of this problem it would be greatly appreciated to share. Till next time... Thanks, Brian

Didn't know this was a major ocurance among Titan owners....

Someone please find out what's wrong. its odd seeing this many people with the same problem.

At first I thought it was a radiator problem...
