new titan owner What size exhaust tubing to run?

Well I picked up my titan SE with Tow package and I want to throw on a exhaust on it but I have been reading on these boards about weather ot go strati pipes, h pipe, x pipe and weather to go 2.5 inch piping or 3 inch piping dual or single exit etc.

Im looking at going one out let and prob just dump it under the truck. My ? is should I have the custom exhaust made with 2.5 or 3 inch piping before the muffler and then go 3 inch single out? or Go 3inch all the way back from where the y pipe starts to muffler and out muffler.

im gona make my own Y or im just gona get a dual in single out muffler and run two strait pipes to the muffler eliminating the y alltogether.

SO 2.5 inch piping or 3' piping?????

What is the stolk size piping on the stolk exhaust as well?

HOpe I did not confuse u with my post but any help would be apreciated

-Chris

titan with tow....to me that means you want low end torque. If so, get a gibson swept-side. its 2.5 inches. Or just change muffs to a high flow. If you want to run the quarter faster, get the 3inch Banks or put in a 3 inch or duals back to the muff and use a dual in single out. your tailpipe is big enough. juma

You should really talk to Sammy Sandbag. Search for his posts on exhaust, he put a dual flowmaster setup on his truck that looks and (he says) performs/sounds great. I think he used an h-pipe, could be an x though. He has one of the best exhaust setups I've seen.

btw... its "stock"

Thanks for the info guys. I got the toe package cause the dealer threw it in for free cause they wanted to move some trucks the 4th july weekend. I dont toe anything well I dont have any toys yet lol. Well I was thinking last night as I laid down under my titan about HP gain and HP loss coming from my sports car back round and making every little HP count. I figure I would prob go 2.5 single pipes and eliminate the stolk Y pipe and run that into muffler of my choice and have a single 3inch out that just dumps strait down.

NOw I just need to find a muffler that screams 5.6 V8 get out of my damn way and that makes my neighbors mad and make my fire fighter buddys shut up about how great CHEVY FORD DODGE V8 is etc

Keep any info or thaughts comming

thanks

Check out the Flowmaster site. They have some tips for sizing and tailpipe lengths. For 300-350 cubic inch displacement and 300 horsepower (we have 339 cubic inches and 305 HP - close enough), they recommend 2.5" duals or 3" single pipe. They also recommend a minimum 10" long tailpipe and a maximum of 6 feet.
