Complain to CR,MT,C&D-and Ford

You are complaining to the wrong folks.Motor Trend,Consumer Reports,Car &Driver, and several other mags said the Titan is faster than a comparable Ford."They" said comparable trucks are

Crew vs Crew,or Supercab vs Crewcab.Comparable means they are designed to do they same thing- full sized pickup that carry 5 or 6 adults,Your RC can't do that-it isn't comparable. It isn't our fault that Ford designed an overweight truck;part of the reason we prefer the Titan is that it is a bit more modern-aluminum block,4 valves, lighter etc.Too bad Ford's comparable truck is slower-big deal-it still does the stuff it is supposed to,just a bit more slowly.Hey,a Mustang is faster than a Titan, but it isn't comparable..
The motomags decide what is comparable-complain to them."We" haven't been bragging in print about the Titan's speed, they have. They have also been the ones responsible for the Fords "slow rep".
I like the new Ford, nice truck, but it was just too expensive, and no side curtain ABags. The Super crew Ford would have been ~$25000 with no side curtains-mine base XE KC with Side Curtains-- was $22,600-all I could manage at the time..
We don't think you aren't being straight with us, we believe your time, but your modified RC isn't comparable to a full sized 6 passenger Titan.Luck,Charlie

i dont know why you guys feed this boy like you do. so what he had a merry christmas and beat a TITAN, big deal. we'll see what happens next time. 150, i can't believe you are saying we talk smack on the F150, compared to DTW and other forums we are angels! all we say is that it is slow, which is FACT. you said that is "talking smack" well then i guess all the truck mags are all "talking smack" then. if you would do a little research you would see that on our many threads about the TITAN vs. the f150 everyone always says something positive about the ford, the only negative responses are usually from guys who used to own fords and had very bad experiences with them. i personally once owned a ranger and will NEVER go back to ford again after that POS. anyways good luck with your boring stripped regular cab f150.

Ya'll remember that Home Improvement episode where Tim raced his home-made hotrod against Bob Villa's new-built-bought hotrod? Tim knew his hotrod was faster and had the specs to prove it, but in the end, he decided he didn't have to risk pushing his engine to the nuts to prove his metal. He ended throttling back where Villa redlined it the whole way, and won by a couple tenths.

I guarentee you that when some hotshot pulls up next to me in a Hemi or F150 and starts revin' his engine, yeah, I'll rev right back. When the light turns green, yeah, I'll gun it. But if he starts WOT it all the way, I'm gonna spool back. Why? It just isn't worth it to me to continue prove my Titan's metal at the risk of its health, especially if up until that point we've been head to head or in the recent case of a new Silverado, me a bit in front. Once we hit legal street speeds (not that long), I let off and he went soaring in front of me. Who cares what he thought, I knew I had a lot of reserve power left and that dude had to be WOT the whole way where I was only half open.

Maybe though, its because I scared the crap out of myself with my S/C Frontier. I dragged some kid in V6 Accord modded to the gills. We were neck and neck when I my engine experienced the all too well known "boost drop" that plagued the S/C Frontiers, but this one was like "BAM BAM BAM" and I thought for sure my recent pully swap had just come back to haunt me by killing the supercharger. Luckily, no ill-effects, but it scared me. From that time on though, I never pushed the Frontier that hard, nor my Titan thus far.

Agreed, COMPARABLE! If Nissan ever made a regular cab, and you raced it and beat it "stock", then come in hellbound f1peepee and brag. but until then, shut up.ok .

Nice to hear what a short F150 can do. I vote to close it, very emotional, proves nothing. (Some of my best friends drive Fords.)

ET is an indicator of how much traction you have. Ever hear the saying "What does a 400whp, 600whp, and 800whp Toyota Supra have in common? 12sec timeslips."

If you look at the short time of the Titan and Hemi I would bet they are 2.3x vs your 2.26.

The more worthwhile performance to compare would be the trap speed. Trap speed will tell you how much HP your engine is putting out and tells what would happen if you were to race from a roll. Do you happen to know the best trap speeds of the Titan and the Hemi?

BTW I compare two trucks racing to two front wheel drive cars racing. What's the point? I can't think of any activity as boring yet amusing as watching two trucks slowly disappear off into the distance. If someone wants to race, I bring my RX-7. If I want to haul my sleds, I bring my Titan.

I was only pulling 1fiddie's chain. I just cannot understand the phenomenon of how this whole "I'm faster" thread has started. Guys it is a truck. I think it is great the Titan in stock form puts a whoopin on the competition, at least via the current magazines. Next week, Dodge or Ford, will bring out something bigger and better, and we will all be sitting around defending our Titan's honor by saying, "Well, they can't beat Bubba, ever since he added that solid rocket booster; he smokes em' all."

Ok, well, I won't - but, I am sure someone will. I can only **** my head to one side and stare at you with confusion -- like a dog does when people try and talk to them -- if you wanted to go "fast" why did you buy a truck? Nissan has the 350z, Ford the Mustang, etc... There were plenty of other options out there, so why are people trying to make a rocket out of what I want to tow my boat with?

I am big into Jeeps. I relate the bizzare nature of this thread as if I went to the Corvette forums and they were talking about last weeks trail ride at the Rubicon and who had more suspension articulation going through Hell's Gate.

Why do people drag race pickup trucks and then brag about it? You want to drag race, get an old muscle car. This is the first time I've looked at or thought about buying a pickup truck, and I can't believe people actually drag race them. My 350Z can destroy your Ford, or a Titan, but guess what, it can't tow anything. I don't know what I'm trying to say, other than this thread and others like it just seems weird and pointless to me...

Edit: Wow, the above post was written as I wrote mine and happens to be very similar!

The main isssue is that the F-150 is a FORD! I will pull my 04 BMW M-3 to the track with my TITAN SE and pretty much smoke anything that shows, 0-60 in 4.2 with the DYNAN mod package and be on my way. The TITAN is the truck to have!

Absolutely choice post!
FWIW, formula for converting mph at end of 1/4 to hp:
Hp=weight w/ driver (mph/234)^3

Yeah, I went out and bought a marker, and stole someones timeslip to gain some sort of status amongst you guys.

Not hardly. As I stated before, I am simply defending my purchase. The guy in the Titan (my friend I may add) does know how to drive it. It's an automatic guys. How can you screw that up. He had no traction problems. I only run the 1/8 mile because that is all we have here.

I havent said anything bad at all about the Titan. However, just in this thread my truck has been called ugly, boring, slow, and my PENIS is apparently small too. I was cool with it. Timeslips dont lie guys. In cooler weather I pulled a 9.95@71mph. Guess I'll have to wait until fall to do that again.

Anyway, it was good talking to you guys. Some of you are complete arses when it comes to your trucks. Most of you are cool though. I'll be running again this weekend. Or maybe I'll just go there and steal some timeslips from more people and draw numbers on my truck.

The number is on the drivers side because the tower is on our drivers side BTW.

Yes, I do know their trap speeds. The HEMI never broke 70mph. On his best run he ran 69MPH. He was averaging 67mph (out of 7 runs). The Titan's first run was a 10.10@69.5mph and his second run was 10.14@69.** He only ran twice.

I know neither one of them broke 70mph.

ant track times?

You guys should view this thread again...after all you posted it. I am sure you believe those times because they are Titan times. I believe them...I dont doubt it at all.

Oh, and to who referred to me as a BOY...thats exactly the silly talk I am referring to.

I happen to have a current 9 years in the military with a wife and three young boys. Atleast keep the personal comments to yourselves. Bash my truck all you want but dont talk down to me.
