Oh, I went and looked back. Low and behold it is "Titan21" who called me a "boy". Great track times BTW in the HEMI races.
you need to stop being so fiesty. your grinding this thread into the ground with your constant babbling, who gives a rats @$$ if i called you a boy! wow, i have been called WAY worse (go to DTW) and you don't see me whining and complaining. for a guy who has 9 years in military service you sure are whining a lot and don't seem that "hardened" to me. and i wasn't calling you literaly a boy, haha, just like "hey bro" or "hey man", i just say hey boy, get over it.

No comment would have been made about the "boy" thing if it didnt seem sarcastic as hell. Trust me, I aint whining and I aint worried man. I can assure you I am alot more "hardened" than you are. Been there done that with things you could only imagine.
I do like the little games we play here though. LOL!!! Liek grown up children fighting over toys. Too much fun.
The video is in the hands of my Titan friend as a matter of fact. He says he has to find a site to post it as a link or something. I aint too big into computers. I figured you could just post the thing..... but he says he needs a server or host site???? I'll keep you up to date though.

Have to disagree,I could care less if my truck is faster then another guys,I bought my truck because I luv it.....Wouldnt hurt my pride if some vehicle is faster.
PS: When I see you on t/v winning races then I will give Props,Im just not into show offs!!!

Agreed, nobody is really a professional unless you are making cash and getting sponsors. But, I love my truck too. By defending our purchases I am referring to the fact that you bought it so of course you want it to be reliable, powerful and at the top of the competition. Thats all.
I dont know about you guys but i got my titan because of the look not the speed.i went and looked at all other trucks and i was looking for the best looking one not the fastes.if i wanted the fastes i would of gone with the dodge that comes with a viper engine.I'm sorry but i just dont understand why are you argueing about who is faster with stock engine it's abviouse if your into speed so much or enough to talk about it you know you are not going to keep your truck stock anyway .so put all your gadgets in your trucks or put what you can afford then do all the racing you want and then brag if you want every time you win.Lol no offence to any of you.
Here ya go. Pic of engine, truck, timeslip and number from the track.
Okay, so lets hear how I faked the timeslips and blah, blah, blah. Also, if you want timeslips with me vs. the HEMI I can post them even though they suck ***. We both roasted them out the line and I still beat him. The Titan and I never had the chance to race head to head but it was no contest anyway. He never ran faster than my worst time. Like I said, we are trying to get video up too.
Congrats 150, that is a peppy 150 you have there. I also drove a CC f150 before getting the titan and i couldn't believe the 150 would run like that. Point made, their not all turds. The one I drove sure was it felt like a 1/2 mile to hit 70mph. My friend and I couldn't get over what a slug it was and were both ford guys. We agreed on two things that evening the 150 was a total slug and the person in charge of the modular engine program at ford should be fired.
Anyway cool #'s ,keep posting I like the comparisons

Thanks for the kind words dandy. I meant to keep it clean and just a comparison. Yes, the Lariats, 4x4's, and larger are slugs. In fact, I test drove an extended cab Lariat 4x2 w/ 3.55 before I ordered my truck. I was so unimpressed with the acceleration I almost kept my 98 F-150 because of that. But, I loved the look, the drive, the interior and the quiet cab. So, I thought logically being a speed freak and ordered the lightest with the most power and that is what I got. Good on ya for being cool. I appreciate it.
Hellbound 150,most here don't disbelieve you,and aren't really out to get you;it is just you are the 1st Ford guy who has ever bragged on the new 5.4 3 valves F150's speed. We are all under the impression-a lot of us did test drives, and we all read the moto mags-that the new F150 is slow as packaged in the Crew and Supercab.Heck I drove one,it was a nice truck-good ride etc,but it was kinda pokey next to the Titan. Some of the problem is weight-300 lbs difference between the true 4 door F-150 4X4(LARIET I THINK) and the CC Titan SE 4X4 as tested in Consumer reports-which doesn't borrow "Ringers" for it's tests, and actually weighs the trucks.
I am trying to figure out how your Ford got about .8-1 sec faster than the usual tested Fords-I am guessing your 10.006=~15.4 1/4.The weight-600 lbs is probably worth .3-.4(not the usual .1 per 100 lbs since that applies to ~3200 lbs vehicles).
I need more gearing info
1)RPMS top gear at 60mph
2)Speed at redline in 1st, or speed at shift point full throttle
3)Redline,and does it shift at redline?
Thanks,Charlie PS The RPMs AT 60 might off point, but it gives a pretty good idea of the effect of the overall gearing-(tire size, diff gearing). If you are turning 1900 or more at 60 mph you are geared pretty low, under 1650 pretty tall.

Hey another cool guy. Alright. The timeslip I posted in the beginning of the thread was a 10.004@70.5mph. My truck weighed in at 4890lbs without me in it. I weigh 250lbs(should of stopped lifting weights). So, we are looking at 5140 w/ a 1/4 tank of gas. I have 3.73 Limited Slip. I DO NOT have a tach so I have no idea on RPM's. I go by feel and it seems to work okay. Previously I had no traction problems at all, but the other night I started to develop them. I am not sure if the engine is breaking in more or what.
This truck DOES NOT shift at redline. It shifts at around 4900RPM and redline is 5400. The new SC programmer (when it comes out) raises the shiftpoints to 5400RPM as needed. www.troyerperformance.com has some good info on Custom tuning for the F-150. The F-150 is a very de-tuned engine from the factory. 87 octane rating, low shift points and so on. However, 90% of the torque on these trucks is available at 1000RPM. I shift out of 1st at about 39mph and out of 2nd at 73mph.
The F-150 tranny has a 2.84:1 1st gear ratio. Much worse than either the Titan or HEMI. You guys are in the 3.**:1 if I am not mistaken in 1st gear.
Thats about all I know. Here is a link to F-150 specs for 2004. Check it out and compare.
Our 1st gear is~3.8.Taking tire size into account(your tire is the 235/70 17?) with the 3.36 our 1st is about 12% lower than yours-we will travel 12% less in 1st gear per turn of the motor.Without Big tow,we are a couple of percent taller.I'm not sure where the Titan shifts in 1st-Redline is 6200,but peak power is 4900,so 5400 would be great.Your 4th is .7,so you should be doing about 1750 RPMs at 60 exactly like the 3.36 Titan with 18" wheels.
The gearing certainly could explain the poor performance of the Tested Fords,if they were tested with the taller diffs they would have an even greater disadvantage in 1st gear than your's does against the 3.36 Titan.Shifting right at peak power-4900- sorta limits accel;better to shift at 10% over peak so you don't drop so far down the power curve.Unfortunately the redline is right where you would like to shift,I guess they are being conservative with the redline. The Titan makes peak power at 4900,but do to the shorter stroke the redline is 6200( the stroke is 92mm-bore about 98).
The assumption has been that the F150 is slow because of weight, and because Ford lied about the 300 hp.Looks like gearing has played a part also.Has anyone dynoed the 5.4 3 valve?
I will scare my wife when I pick her up tonight when she gets off 3-11:30.Perfect time to find out just where it shifts at full throttle. Thanks,Charlie
