Well go read my results from yesterday's race. I have no doubts he beat the other Titan - I believe him. That said, I was also at 90+ degrees temp at 100% humidity and even in the 1/8 mile I wouldn't have lost. If someone wants to host the timeslips (I don't know how to do that) I will scan them and email them no problem. The best listed below was from yesterday's weather conditions. I have no idea what it will run with a cooler environment - yet.
Best/worst 1/8 mile:
9.746@72.59 / 9.933@71.45
Hats off to the guy for just going out there. And if you thought you could come on here and post about beating on a Titan and not getting flack, well... let's just say you wouldn't beat me. Put a blower on that Ford, there's a bazillion out there. Now THAT would be fun.

I did not notice it before, but indeed this race was only an 1/8th mile. Aren't 1/4 miles really more of a standard for measuring vehicle to vehicle? I bet there a lot of cars out there that are pretty close performance wise stock and put head to head, one would beat another in an 1/8th mile but the other would pull ahead if it had the full 1/4.
In this case Hellbound, since we seem to have quite a words contest amongst us all here, maybe there should be a full 1/4 mile between you and the other vehicles? Atleast that way you would have a bar-none airtight win with no "yeah but..." attachments to those who doubt your 1/8 mile win. And if you lost, atleast you would still have bragging rights about being quicker off the line and

yeah, 1/4 mile times are the universal standard. no one gives a hoot about 1/8 mile times. and i've said this a million times but i don't give a crap if a single cab is faster than my truck, a single cab is useless for me.

My buddy is here with his HEMI timeslip at work. His best run is 10.155@69mph with a 2.287 60ft. I ran a 2.26 60ft and a 10.004@71.5mph. So, would he have caught me in the 1/4 mile? I havent seen the Titan's timeslip but I do know his time. 10.10@69.5mph is his best time. Dont know his reaction or 60ft. Either way, they both had slower trap speeds than I did.
Also, Regular cab doesnt matter. The weights are equal between me and the Titan. Titan has lower tranny gears, I have lower diff gears.
Also, "the head"... I intend on buying a blower. Whipple and Kenne Bell make them but they arent released yet. 5,000 dollars too. Gives me about 450HP and 530 ft. lbs of torque at the flywheel. BTW, "the head" do you have any mods? I assume you do. Nice times man.
My buddy w/ the HEMI is doing his exhaust and intake this weekend. So, we are running again. The Titan guy doesnt want to race anymore until he gets mods. He did say he tried two different methods when running. He idle launched and ran a 10.10. Then he "manually shifted" and ran a 10.14. No traction problems either. So, maybe he should rev up and launch and see what happens. Could help alot.
However, soon I am getting the new Superchip(when it comes out) and Air Force One intake put on. Should improve somewhat.
You're missing the point, I don't give a crap what the truck weighs are any of this other crap. A single cab is useless to me cause I carry people and crap in my truck, and I like having the crew cab. I'm happy for you your single cab is supposedly faster in the 1/8 mile than some other trucks. If I wanted to buy a truck to go fast, I woulda bought a single cab HEMI. Don't get me wrong, the new F-150 is a great truck, I'm just arguing on principle alone.

Same weather here bro. Welcome to Florida. We were all soaked after sitting in our trucks in line, no A/C, 100% humidity, 90 degrees and the heat of all the engines. Esp. the pro racers.
Also, what is up with dogging the 1/8 mile. Hell, we have NHRA down here man. Check it out.
Mods?
Mobil 1 in the differential. I still have the stock paper air filter. No exhaust, no K&N drop-in or CAI.
So, no, sorry to disappoint but no mods here. Thanks for the kudos.
Hey there was a 1/8 track I went to just on the south Alabama border when I was working in Pensacola. People there were really friendly. I also won a trophy with a 93 Explorer in Ohio (Tri-State?) that was 1/8 mile. Should have seen their faces on that one!
Man, go Kenne Bell if at all possible - they make great stuff. I hear sometimes the tech help isn't that great but it is often the installer that blows it.

Tell the guy with the titan to launch between 1200 and 1500 rpm and to let it shift automatically. How many miles does he have? I had 1000 on mine when I baselined it (two whole runs) running 15.4s and now that I have 5400+ miles on it, it felt a lot stronger and proved that with some 15.1s this time out with crappier weather.

He had around 5200 miles when we went to lunch the other day. Great times w/ no mods man. You are running faster than a HEMI w/ 3.92's man. Good on ya. I was thinking the same thing w/ the Kenne Bell. They did an install on a new F-150 in Street Trucks a while back. At 6psi it produced 445hp and 526lbs of torque. Not too shabby.
BP, I understand your view on the Reg. Cab issue. I agree I used to have an x-cab and I loved it. But, I am a speed freak and I got the Regular Cab which has a mini-extra space behind it. Actually, I hated hauling people around. They always wanted to ride because I had the extra room, and they never gave me gas money.
Plus, my other F-150 w/ 3.08 gears and a 4.6L extended cab was SLLLOOOOOWWWW!!!! But, very dependable.
BTW, what does Mobil 1 do as a mod or performance?

I checked the full throttle 1-2 shift point on the Titan last night. It looked like it shifted at about 5800 rpms and ~50 mph(2.94).Maybe someone else can check this, since it happens so quickly, and I was having to keep my eyes on the road etc.
A SC would be a great idea on that Ford. The long stroke sorta limits any mods that require more RPMS,and the 3 valves(with the intake valves probably being smaller than the Titans since the bore is smaller) aren't any big disadvantage since they will be force feed.Luck,Charlie
