after k&n intake installed

hey have any of you have this problem.i notice after i installed my flowmaster the truck ran awsome but after the k&n intake was installed i dont feel the g-force as much when i gun it it feels it too much air and not enough gas it had more g-force and pick up with the stock air box.i went with the 70 series flowmaster and now it even louder with the K&N intake sound like the 40 series.its really fast on long run like at 80 mph if you gun it but doing 50 or 60 mph i gun it and no power kicking in like before any of you have this problem.maybe i got too wait for a chip to come out and that will improve it not sure.thinking of putting original air box back in it and sell the K&N intake.any advise out there.

hey diesel; as in any other modification you make to the combustion process, you must allow the ecu to reset itself, clearing the codes by disconnecting the batt overnight, will quicken the adjustment period. as with the exhaust change, it may take 300-500 miles for your ecu to fully adjust. so be patient, the grin will come back, but even bigger. i'm installing my k&n on the 15th, if it comes in. one other thing to consider, not only does the engine have to readjust, the trans has to learn you all over again, trust me, the smile will comeback.

Per the installation instructions I disconnected the battery for the hour it took to install the kit. I noticed an immediate improvement in throttle response. I can't imagine the muffler having anything to do with it. This intake mod has no downside, other than the increase in noise when you get on it (though I like that)

that weird as my exhasut/intake combination work great togehter although I do think it needs a chip to allow the engine to get into the higher rpm range before it changes gears--but hey I llike speed

it took about 2 days even after the ecu reset over night to get a true ECU reprogram (since I only travel about 30-40 miles daily

well I hope it gets better.I diconnected the battery over night to reset the computer oh maybe about 10 hours but i dont think it has reseted yet.todd92 i too feel a big improvement but what i'm saying is before i installed the k&n when you gun it it would pick up speed faster i think it's like smoketitan said need a chip to make the rpm go up faster before gear change i think thats the problem.truck41 i hope your right at lease you made feel better for now i was really disapointed with the intake.
