Racing.... who won??

New here! just got my titan last week... just wondering, has anyone gone up against anyone lately? What had some competition? Let me know everyone that got smoked! Wait, that list would go on for a while..

Nissan knew what they were doing when they built this machine!!

Basically, it has been decided that any late model production pickup truck besides the SuperCharged Fords (Lightning, Harley Dav.) and the SRT-10 (Viper motor) will be slower than a stock Titan KC. Apparantly, some models of the Harley Davidson a couple years ago didn't have a blower? If this is correct, than I would also assume that those would be slower than a Titan in those instances.

I haven't heard from anyone who has raced an SS yet, but according to magazine 1/4 times, it is also a victim.

If you need specifics and stories, just do a search as there has been more than one thread already, though I'm sure there are more stories since those threads...

i havent really ran too many people yet......(everybody istoo scared).

but i did race a mercedes suv (the 430 v8 one) and won even though he got a huge jump on me.

some chevy taho w/ rims and what not. this race wasnt even funny, i got out of it by the tiem the truck shifted into second gear, the taho was that far behind.

and lastly a subuaru wrx who had the jump on me on a double left turn so i didnt get into it untill the truck was straight, by the time i ran him down he let off so i really dontknow who won/would have won. but i def kept up very well

A base WRX will do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. I love my Titan but I also know not to mess with a quick sedan. My wife has a G35 and there is no comparrison in speed or quickness between her can and my Titan.

I raced a new Accord (stock 0-60 is a little over 7 seconds) and beat him. I could hear that thing thrashing through the gears as I smoothly pulled away.

It was close, though.

Why race a damn Honda? He looked at me, revved the engine and pointed forward. What's a poor Half Shovel to do?

the only reason i half way kept up with the wrx was bc of the time he lost shifting. you have to be real quick to keep up with an automatic such as the titan that will prob only shift one time in a typical street race.

I feel that the titan can hang with our eclipse V-6 3.0. Titan has alot more torque, the eclipse might start moving forward after 40+mph though.

While the Titan is very quick for a truck, my Titan is NO WHERE NEAR the WRX I had in terms of acceleration or performance nor should it be. If the guy driving the WRX had half a clue of what he was doing it wouldn't have even been a close race. With my WRX I was going up against Boxsters, A6 bi turbo's, S4's, etc, none of which the Titan could even come close to hanging with.

Even if the WRX does lose a bit from shifting, generally speaking a manual tranny is quicker than an auto, and if the driver is experienced with the turbo lag of the WRX and knows how to drive it there's just no chance for the Titan to even come close to keeping up. Keep in mind a stock WRX can run mid 14's in the 1/4 mile.

I will say though, if you come up against someone with a WRX who doesn't know how to launch them right with the turbo spooled up, you could easily beat them to 60 but that's all driver error.

yeah exactly, i know the titans not nearly as fast as the wrx , but then again im not saying that i smoked this guy, i mearly halfway kept up with him. for all i know he may have not been going all out.

Last Thursday myself and 7 other guys from work took our trucks to test and tune. Two Titans, a Rumble Bee, and a bunch of Chevys. My truck was the quickest with a 9.9 in the 1/8th, the Dodge was next at 10.2, and the other Titan was .3 seconds slower than mine. Not sure of the problem with the other Titan, our trucks are identical except color, he only had a little over a thousand miles but mine ran 10.0s at the same mileage.

Lets see, i don't go searching for a battle, cuz my recless days stopped a few years ago, but i have lined up against a few trucks since i got my XE KC.

-One was a 99 Dakota RT 5.9, no contest, my Titan left it 4 truck lengths behind before i hit 45 mph (and he got the jump on me).
-I got my *** handed to me by a SVT Lightning, but it was definatly not stock.
-I also went against a new Dodge Hemi, and it was neck and neck till about 40mph, then my titan started to pull well ahead. (gee, isnt the hemi supposed to have a good 40HP on the titan?)
So far i'd say the only trucks on the market to pull away from the Titan are both the supercharged fords (Lighning and HD edition) and the Titan still holds its own.

Went against all these trucks below

2004 Dodge 1500 < Titan
2004 F-150 < Titan
Silverado SS = Titan (A complete tie seriously)
Lightning > Titan

I push my truck against all the neighborhood trucks and I also win =)

SS and Lightnings are so close its scary. I have 1 SS and 2 light's in my neighborhood.

Cobra's also come out close, 2/3 victor!
Chevy Avalances 2/2 victor!

Stock Ford Lightnings run low 13s, our Titans run low 15s. Go to the track sometime and challange one of the Lightnings to a dragrace.
