Maf

Hey guys I new and just got me a le cc 4x4. My question is about the MAF on the titans. Has there been any problems so far with blown ones? The reason I ask this is because my 02 maxima that I traded was proned to maf's problems. Though I personally had'nt had any problems with mine, 02, 03, and some 04 maximas didn't respond well to and aftermarket intake. I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and get the K&N kit without worrying about MAF problems. Thanks in advance

So far I have not heard about any problems from those using aftermarket intakes. I had an 02 Altima 3.5 and was one of the lucky ones without a MAF problem.

Hey gt...There has been SOME concern about oil from these type of filters getting on the MAF sensor. The MAF is heated, and may cook the oil onto the sensor grid and change it's sensing properties. I have a friend who is a rep for Accel brand aftermarket ECU devices. He doesn't recommend using oiled filters in front of a MAF sensor. However, others here and elsewhere have been using them without issues. If I were to install one, I would make sure that the filter did not have "excess" oil on it.
Just some thoughts...good luck!
